Cold water in the dab rig would be best, but I always used room temperature. Nothing particularly wrong about hot water but there's definitely no reason to do that.
In my experience I have found warm water (as hot as my tap can get) to have a smoother pull and better flow. Keep in mind this is with THC concentrates however I would think it would carry over to spice. Warm water seems to flow through the perc easier and help break down any residue stuck inside it.

As far as actual effects I highly doubt water temperature will have any effect. Just thought I would share my two cents. 😁

Any reason you say cold is better?

I don't notice much difference either way, but my thought is that bringing the vapor temperature down from the heat given to it from the nail makes it more pleasant to inhale.
