describing DMT to a layman

Migrated topic.
It's like a back twisting high dive into the paisley-jello filled pool of your soul.

Only better...

I like how Joe Rogan explains it: "It's like mushrooms times a million plus aliens."

Of course, then you have to explain mushrooms . . .

This is a great short too because the visuals are great and the background dialogue by Terence is very straight forward and easy for someone new to understand.

WOW! Thank you so much for posting this video, that was just incredible!
I hadn't even heard this Mckenna talk (though a lot of snippets were recognizable from some of his other wraps). Amazing.

One of the most powerful psychedelics in existence with rep for knocking folks' souls right out of their bodies, inducing ego death, as well as a convincing 5-D immersive experience of true timelessness that will last 5-25 mins on the consensual reality clock.

But, really, it is about as explainable as:

Sex
Being the victim of a violent crime
Loosing a loved one unexpectedly to death
Cheating death
Getting the First Prize for something you thought you weren't in the running for
Going out to nature and having a deep mystical experience
Falling deeply in love
Going home when home burned to ashes long ago
And so much more . . . .

I have a certain tattoo on my arm that always leads people to ask me about it, so I have my usual response:

"It's almost ineffable really, but I can try. You essentially have to ingest the molecule one way or another, I do it by vaporization with a water pipe. Within a few seconds of holding in the vapor, a high pitched tone envelops my reality. My perception 'wanes,' and an intense high rushes over me. I forget what I am doing except I know that I must close my eyes.

I lay back in a comfortable position. I already made sure that my friends and environment will be silent. Within my mind I enter into massive fields of color that all take on different shapes. I may feel as if my body is again enveloped in these fields. Impossible geometries, insane colors, and I sink deeper into the realm.

As time passes I may meet with various freestanding figures who I call entities. I have various interactions with them. Generally as the trip starts to end, I get a huge smile across my face and the thought 'I should ask my friends to let me take another hit' comes into my head. It's funny because it's already been a whole 5 minutes.

The craziest part is the integration. I forget much of the specifics of what I experienced, but as months go by memories come back to my head, and I realize new things about my life, knowledge, and certain fields. It's intensely powerful, and although completely alien, staggeringly human at the same time."

If I give them the whole spiel they generally smile and nod, but I can tell they're thinking, "This guy is crazy, but whatever floats his boat."

You have a fantastic knack for continuously explaining things with perfect wording Pandora ! Love it

I'm reminded of the times when Hank Hill, Bill Dauterive, Boomhauer, and Dale Gribble share that moment of Zen, standing up, sharing beers and saying "yep." I don't think they could even be pressed into explaining what they're affirming, I see it more as a acknowledgment of the ineffability of the moment.

How can we see your art? I tried looking at your profile and saw what I think was your first trip, it was beautiful. I'd like to see more if possible.
