Yeah, that's pretty much the reason I switched. The psychedelic I previously used for spiritual journeying was pharmahuasca, which for me still stands at the peak for unbelievably profound subconscious exploration. But in my experience, 5-MeO-DMT is just something else. It very reliably causes legendary spiritual events, like kundalini and nirvikalpa samadhi. The effects are so incredibly strong that you're often affected for up to two weeks after a major experience, with intermittent bouts of full-on ego death, extreme states of presence, and the experiential collapse into unification/void.

Besides all of that, it's just a great teacher for meditation in the sense that it gives you a guided tour from where you are in your day-to-day life all the way to the crowning achievement written about in all the great wisdom tradition texts. When you've used it enough, you become intuitively aware of what needs to be done to get there without it. Kind of like training wheels on a bike, where you get a feel for the balance needed even though you're using support.

Though I should add that I'm very sure pharma and DMT are still valuable, and I 100% plan to incorporate them into my practice. I just need to figure out where they fit in.
