DmT and Pain - A question on similar experiences?

Hello everybody. It has been forever since I last posted but I have been around reading occasionally and of course enjoying the spice albeit not as often.

This REALLY should be posted under the DMT Discussion forums but since I am still new here I will have to post it here. I hope I still get some good feedback.

Some background - I am mildly experienced with the spice. I first vaped it almost two years ago. I would say I have vaped it maybe 50 times max in the past couple years. I have also taken Dmt orally and a variety of other methods. I used to use Syrian Rue as an MAOI but after some careful research I now use Turcumen cubensis. It is available in any grocery store out there and comes without the nasties of brewing up Rue tea. PS I would love any opinions/thoughts on Turcumen as an MAOI for oral spice.

Anyways back to the topic at hand. Over the past few months I have noticed a strange phenomena when vaping the spice. What I am about to describe has happened to me on 4 separate occasions over the past few months.

Basically - just after inhaling a deep hit of spice, pain immediately struck somewhere in my body (a previous injury.)

The first time it happened I had sprained my ankle the day before. I was sitting on my bed, took a nice big inhale, and immediately pain shot through just my ankle. I very sharp pain which lasted about a minute. It hurt IMMENSELY for all of a few seconds, after that I was able to enjoy my trip.

The second time it happened I had cut (mildly) my left forearm the day before. Once again, upon inhaling my first deep hit - the pain struck me. But only in the immediate area of my cut. It was as if I could feel the pain just rush to that one spot and focus on it. Again the pain was sharp and quick. It felt just like when the cut happened in the first place. It subsided after awhile with no lingering after effects.

The last time which I will mention was by far the worst. The day before I had been camping and fishing all day long. I got a really bad sunburn on my upper back, neck, and shoulders. I mean a REALLY bad sunburn. I vaped a lot of spice that night in the forest. I had an amazing experience, no pain at all.

The next day after a long drive I finally got home. It was around 9pm by the time I took a shower and decided I wanted just one hit of the spice. (sometimes I crave threshold trips, not breakthrough stuff)

So I am sitting on my toilet lid. xP And I take a nice moderate sized hit. After about 10 seconds - my entire shoulder and upper back area felt as if it were being consumed by fire. I kid you not - I dropped my pipe to the ground, then dropped to the ground myself. I lay there for almost minutes in unbearable pain as it felt as if my shoulders were being seared where the burn was. It finally went away - back to the dull ache it was before I hit the spice. I was not able to enjoy this trip at all as the pain was too great and so sudden.

This last experience scared me a bit. Note that my sunburn did hurt mildly, but simply a dull ache - after my hit, it felt as if HOT water were being poured on it.

Also note, each time this happened it was always the day AFTER an injury, never the day of. Now I wonder if this is a new thing to happen to me or if I had simply never happened to vape the day after an injury until a few months ago.

Now let me be clear. These experiences have not scared me away from spice or turned me away from it whatsoever. I simply want to know -

Has anybody here experienced anything similar? I'd love to hear any input. I know DmT is supposed to be delivered to your brain upon ingestion, it seems to me as if it somehow highlighted my injuries and lit up my pain receptors like a light very briefly.

Thanks for any help guys. :)

Dry skin on my hands, I would say they stung more so then burned for the first few mins (pretty intensely), but went away after the first few mins. This happened several times late winter/early spring. I wouldn't say it was only the day after however.

After lifting weights that same day with no issue, but once the day after i was hit with a massive dose of fatigue even tho i felt fine just before.

On another note, a old hand injury seems to vanish on the spice. I normally dont think about it much anyways, but when i do i can feel the tension. I would think it would be more noticeable when smoking. I've even thought about it on a pretty strong trip and started moving it around looking at it, it seemed and felt like nothing ever happened to it.

Oh, once with poison ivy, it was a non-issue to me atleast.

I think you maybe onto something, but not sure what

I do remember reading somewhere a case of a guy who had extreme back pain from hurting himself playing a sport the day prior to his spice trip.

He said that his pain turned into a snake-like form, creeped up his spine, and then blasted him into a breakthrough when it hit his brain. Some people responded by saying that this was him experiencing the kundalini serpent energy, others said just a coincidence.

In his case the pain seemed to help, but in your case it is clearly distracting and potentially debilitating. Maybe it is just a physical reaction that you have to the drug; it affects everyone differently.

I suggest blasting off while not in any sort of pain (also without having injured yourself in the past few days). If you don't experience any pain, then this may just be the protocol you'll have to follow if you want to avoid painful surprises.

Thank you for your responses and advice everyone. :d

I will heed the advice provided. I am just glad there is a couple out there who have felt similar things.

This was just such a strange and unexpected experience for me with the drug so I had to ask.

The only time I could think of that I experienced pain was one day (I believe after getting a massage) I decided to smoke some DMT, thinking that my muscles might be more relaxed or something to that effect. The whole thing backfired in a grand fashion. After exhaling the vapor and closing my eyes, your typical DMT scene ensued, but all the geometry were made up of these mosaic sharp needles essentially. My entire body felt like it was a large needle mosaic. So in other words I had pin-point pain....everywhere. I'm reminded of that toy where it's essentially a bunch of (not sharp) needles in a box with a lid that has holes in it so you can make the impression of your hand or face or whatever in the needles. Everything kind of looked like that, except sharp, pointy and painful. I think that's the only time I experienced legitimate pain on DMT. I have irritable bowel syndrome, and it tends to actually alleviate even the severest, sharpest pains from attacks.

I've had some weird pains before. Similar to Global's pains that he mentions.

It's the feeling of everything in my body being torn apart by pin point. It's like these little rods with hooks are being shoved into the skin and then pulled.

It's happened twice that I fully remember. The first time was about 5 months ago. I was told that the pain was the body's way of recognizing change, and it would be over soon. I'm usually accompanied by a voice that mentions this is somewhat of a reconfiguration process. The last time it happened was to the sound of Cicadas.

 Did you by chance mean pure curcumin or pain old curcuma (aka. turmeric/haldi)?

That is probably what he/she means, since there is no such thing as "Turcumen". Curcumin in Turmeric is a reversible MAOI.

There is an older discussion about using it instead of harmalas, but I haven't read it. Here it is if someone wants to explore this further:
