DMT and reading

Has anyone tried this? Or intentionally looked at art or text on your way up or down from the spice?

I've been off the spice lately but I have notes/trip journal and my memories are really strong on this kikri dream herb.

I was just remembering how if my phone went off, and out of reflex I grabbed it and looked at it, everything would be n's and m's. Like nmnmmmnnn mmnnnnmn nmn.

Can you relate?
 
Usually, whatever I'm looking at is covered in a geometric 4 dimensional cubic moving language. One of my favorite parts about opening my eyes is seeing the scrolling, golden language all over my room projected out like a hologram :) I don't think I'd be able to read english while on DMT honestly. It's hard enough for me to read while on LSD and mushrooms.
 
I'll usually take a look around the room while I'm on the way down. And it's never really the same effect twice, each time there are new things happening. The ceiling tiles become miles wide (and Art Deco) with rainbow electrical patterns racing through them. Paintings on the wall wake up and animate. Electric grid patterns are superimposed over everything. The room reduces into interlocking translucent blocks. A variety of stuff like that... I've made no attempt at reading... I think at any kind of dosage that reading would be a fruitless, time-wasting challenge.

Read Neuromancer on LSD, that was something else.

I really like this guy. I need to pick up one of his books because I really dig his cross-dimensional research/comedy talks on the web. He has one foot in entheogenic universe all the time, yet he's incredibly coherent, well referenced, and hilarious.
 
I tried to read the Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson, while matching bowls with George Dorn. Didn't work out too well, though years later, while vaping yellow spice crystals, I think I figured out what the Kallisti Gold that he smoked really is!
 
I've had a massive interest in doing this in the early part of the ayahuasca experience. It seems like a good idea. While the ego is weakened, why not crack into something with a value that I want to internalize? Aya is a teacher, why not blend some classes together?


Definitely trying it. Typing was possible during the start phase. Hopefully I can muster the will to focus on what is on the page, watch the thoughts, and, iunno, meditate my way through /some/ of one of those books every "guide" has suggested to me in life.
 
You know, now that you say the mnmmmnmnnnnnn thing, I have seen that. It was on my extremely bad trip, my only bad trip so far, where I was stuck in a minecraft like void somewhere between worlds. It was a bad time. I scrambled for my phone to try to convince myself I was still alive and that everything would be returning to "normal" soon, and the text on my phones screen resembled m's and n's, and the phone itself was about the size of a small car keyfob lol.

Yes LOL! That's the connection I was looking for.

Not that I could stare at a screen forever. But I find it highly entertaining to glance at English and have absolutely no clue what it says.
It will help with a bad trip, I think at least. Because you look at it and it pulls you away from your worry, using confusion!
 
Things like that are honestly part of why Ive decided to explore the consciousness.

I used to be so anti"drug" because of the way its drilled down your throat as a kid. But once I began studying psych in depth from high school and beyond it slowly dawned further and further on me that theres so much more to life than what we see when we wake up day to day. Theres a reason we can have these experiences.

As frightening as that was, it was still absolutely fascinating that a situation like that can be more real than normalcy.

That is the way reading should be. Maybe not ten minutes per paragraph, but I read slow and complete each sentence and paragraph. While sober that is.

Thats a tough one really. Because these substances are part of the natural biological world, as are we, perhaps it's not that theres a "reason" so much as it's just one extra part of our lives thats totally overlooked by the majority of the modern world. The fact that we CAN have these experiences means it's just part of the journey of self-discovering and exploring the seas of our own existence in a manner which can have outstanding, life lasting effects as long as the user can learn from the experience.

As humans, if we're not learning or being happy, we're missing the point.

This is a true way to read books. I tend to do this a few times a week. The unfoldment is much more direct, funny and creative. ;)
