DMT - Dangerous for your Mind?

So in short... yes. DMT is bad for your mind.

It makes you constantly debate about stuff you'll never have an answer to Smile

It would put it another way. It makes some people believe in things they don't actually have the answer too. In other words a repeat of number 3 on my list of things that dmt can possibly do to your mind that could be considered dangerous depending on what that belief is.

But I know your just making a funny

I would say it's everything determined by yourself. Wheater it will be dangerous, joyful, fearful or confusing.
You determine your experience, nobody else.

I would say definitely not, I think the only thing that could be dangerous for your mind and your experience is yourself...
We manifest and create our own experience...

My brain is my religion. :d

MORE OMEGA 3s!!!!

Yes, Lord...

The next morning... no one remembers anything... no one can explain... why there are flax seeds EVERYWHERE...

this whole arguement boils my blood, simply because it makes me think about the person.. not so much his arguement... what kind of a miserable bastard he must be... mckenna said it best in one of his "tree of knowledge" recordings..

"you arent going to invest 15 minutes into finding out about this? but you are willing to carry on a crusade against it? what kind of scientist are you ?!?!?"

To get back on topic, I can think of many activities that are more dangerous for your mind/body than the occasional DMT trance:
- abuse of Datura, alcohol, tobacco, meth, cocain, heroin, even cannabis
- watching TV all day and swallowing all the brainwashing bullshit
- going to Church every sunday for yet another brainwash
- obsessive eating, gambling, shopping
- obsessive online community activities ;)

tryptographer, you forget these two
- playing video games all day
- arguing with burnt on the internet all day about God

Spiceman,

Do you see that it is difficult to know who you disagree with and what makes your blood boil?

I listen to McKenna often and he wasn't perfect, he was only human.

Is it the religious person who should spend 15 minutes to consider rejecting the conventional teachings and considering atheism?

Or is it the atheist that should spend 15 minutes to find out about someones supposed "God?" ( and also please specify which one...Budda? Christ, whatever.. )

I would suggest that your blood going to a boil is due to a propensity we all have to defend our beliefs.

The way I handle it is that I have my beliefs and I choose to befriend those who share my beliefs and distance myself from those who do not. But I should mention that I have few friends, so maybe that isn't a great idea. I too would get my blood boiling easily and I try to avoid such a situation by attempting to surround myself with others who think as I do. I think most people do. Am I still on topic??? lol..

If I remember correctly when he was saying invest 15min he was referring to loading up the pipe.

considering anything you are willing to carry on a crusade against for at least 15 minutes is recomandable for anyone.

The principle aply's to each point of view, unless ofcourse your point of view is superiour.

Unless ofcourse your point of view is partly that your point of view is superiour and it isn't, just like that of all the other people who think their point of view is superiour.

Unless ofcourse your point of view realy IS superiour.

Unless ofcourse when your point of view is that all others who think their point of view is superiour are wrong, but your point of view realy is superiour, and it isn't just like with all those others who think that.

Unless ofcourse, when your point of view REALY is superiour.

 I second that I need a break, sure could rest of nexus, from these kind of discussions. Seriously. I gotta stay away for a while folks

Why? are you afraid you could change your mind concerning spirituality and "supernatural" powers?

Wow, I'm really surprised whoever wrote that would dare to say that dmt is WORSE than Datura. Datura scares the shit out of me, I would never take it, too risky. That guy really should read trip reports and figure out that Datura is the one that causes hallucinations where people can't differentiate real from unreal.

Sure, it's easy to call people insane, easy to accuse others of having psychotic symptoms. Fine, I can handle that guy saying Terrence Mckenna was a nut..... but brother..... you go and say that the South American natives are a bunch of drug crazed psychos? man, them's fightin words! lol. It's funny though, I can see from that post how an outside observer who has never done dmt would be really scared of it. He comes to the conclusion that since dmt seems to have a lasting impact on how people feel and think, that dmt must cause psychosis. I could see how a very inflexible mind with a very strict definition of psychosis would come to that conclusion. He does not seem to entertain the possibility that the users do realize they are in a drug induced state, nor does he seem to find it possible to believe that maybe the experiences of those users have a positive effect. I suggest whoever wrote that look within and see if he can find any psychosis within himself. Stop looking out and seeing psychosis in others, what is going on in you?

i think whoever wrote this has an incredibly ignorant view of what is real. he is only looking at his ego and what it presents him. Sure, it can be potentially dangerous for those who are not prepared, but anything can be dangerous to an unprepared user. its like giving a baby a coin and he dies from eating it so you ban money. I feel his points for their "psychosis" is merely an opinion that he has raised off of a hatred for "tripping" people. what he did not say that while peoples views changed drastically, they helped them immensely in their journey and gave them a new and revised look at the world. Real is anything that is experienced. if you say the drug just changed the chemical imbalance than any feeling or thought is fake. everything contains a different frequency, which is what gives it its character
