Can I do a freeze percip outside if the temperature is below freezing just don't want to the chemicals and what not around food

Yes. In any case the vessel should be covered tightly to prevent evaporation of solvent in the fridge and to prevent dust coming in. Good Luck!

It will need to be well below freezing, too. Just -2C or so is not to good. But if you're in the US, looks like in much of it now the temperatures are going to be more than adequate for that.
IME just wrapping a bowl of solvent with cling plastic did not stop naphtha vapors from passing through it and through the plastic wrap of a frozen pizza, making it taste like solvent even after baking.
I like the glass dishes with snap-close lids and gaskets. And even then I use a separate mini-freezer. Outside is a good call.
Technically freeze precipitation could happen at room temperature, as it did for me last time. Apparently I had a super saturated solution, that I let rest for at least a day without any growth. Then after pumping the solution through a membrane filter, the solution started growing crystals immediately. They were growing in the tubing, on the filter, and just a couple hours later I could already see them growing in the vessel. Within a day or so most of the growth had occurred, all at room temp, and freezing surprisingly didn't yield much more.
I'm not entirely sure which conditions factored into my results, but you could create a super saturated solution by evaporating off the solvent, perhaps in a warm water bath, until it's ready to crystallize at room temp. A distillation setup could recapture the evaporating solvent, which would be nice for a lot of reasons. Or push it through a membrane filter and see what happens

Which tek do you guys find the best results and do you follow it to a T or do you add or do something different

It depends on your staring material. Powdered bark can be approached differently to much coarses chunkier bark. It's best to gradually study different approaches and their respective advantages. Having a bit broader picture of what is happening and how various chemicals are behaving will be of much help.
If I would have powdered bark, I would go for the dry tek and precipitate dmt salts (fumarate/benzoate) directly from the solvent (acetone or IPA___FASA/FASI) and then do a mini A/B ending with freeze precip to obtain DMT freebase that can then be used for changa for example. If you want to have it only for orall administration you could end with salt form as well.
