Depressed Fairy Bad MF
Hello im new here. Im being dealing with depression for 4 years now, i have tried different meds but my depression is resistant to therapy and meds, my first psychiatrist wasnt good at all, she wanted to give me a virtual session because she was paranoid about gettin’ exposed to covid so she only attended me via videocall and gave me desvenlafaxine.
after 4 months of just gettin worse, i got an appointment with a better psychiatrist and he added Lamotrigine to my treatment, it worked and i started to get better until i got a big relapse a year later due to my ex leaving me and some nasty work environment violence i was victim, at that point i was starting to lower my desvenlafaxine dose.
Due to the relapse, he increased the desvenlafaxine again, however this time it wasnt working so he shifted for venlafaxine as it is “the same but more aggresive” and he also gave me a little dose of quetiapin because i have a strong sleep disorder and i wasnt being able to control it. However it didnt work at all and i spiraled deeper into depression until i was close to a suicide attempt, It was fucking horrible… and all he did was just nuking me with a higher dose of all that shit.
So this february i went to see another psych, that old guy is the best doctor i have ever met, and he suggested me and my mom to take a genetic test to see wtf was going on and i got a disgusting surprise but everything came into sense… my body doesnt metabolize correctly both venlafaxine and desvenlafaxine, im just and unlucky guy.
The test showed that Bupropion was, genetically, a good option for me so we started the switch which it was fucking hell to me. Now Im currently with only bupropion and lamotrigine, as he also told me to ditch the quetiapin.
Im better now but im still having a really slow recovery, so a friend of mine suggested me trying dmt with a really nice guy who had helped him and his familly, so i decided to give it a try. And for surprise of no one, i liked it lol.
This medicine is in the really small list of good things that had happen to me during these last 4 years lol
My traditional therapist is already aware about my dmt therapy and he agrees with it as long as i make sure that its not dangerous, however, before i was going to discuss about dmt with my psychiatrist, HE FUCKING DIED (yeah, im not a lucky guy) it was one of the toughest griefs i had ever had, he was a really nice guy and an excellent doctor.
I’m meeting my new psych this friday and im a biologist but a very ignorant one lol, i have been looking for some good documentation about drug interactions and i found that i cant do ayahuasca because the MAOI compounds in the brew are dangerous with psychiatric meds, but its not dangerous to mix smoked dmt and bupropion, however i have not found anything on lamotrigine, so i would be grateful if anybody has some nice documentation about this DDI to share.
I want to be as best informed as possible because i dont wanna hide any information to this new guy, today i had my third dmt session and it has helped me a lot, i was pretty skeptical about psychedelics but now i believe in them strongly. In my experience with my 3 past psychs, they are careful with changing meds, but i also want to be sure that if for a strange and unlikely reason he doesnt like bupropion, he does not give me a different med that is potentially dangerous with dmt.
Thank you very much in advance, any advice will be deeply appreciated, also sorry about my long tragic story just to ask for some DDI information, but i think context can help you to give me advice about what to tell the new guy
