DMT + Other Substance

Hey Everyone,

I personally have never traveled into hyperspace, mostly because i still live with my parents and i don't want them to walk into the room while I'm on my voyage, but i have a prescription for medical cannabis and valium. I have, in the past, used both for recreational purposes, but i was curious as to mixing various substances together before going on your voyage. For instance, taking 2-3 valium, waiting until you get to that "High" point, and then smoking some DMT. or maybe psylocibin mushrooms and then DMT? I don't know because i am not an experienced user, but would this perhaps through you deeper into hyperspace?

i am new to this website and have not taken the time to explore it, so this may have already been brought up. Or my lack of first-hand knowledge on DMT experiences may make this whole thing mute, but curiosity has gotten the best of me.

if you have tried this, please give some details on your experience. or if you know a reason why this would be unsafe, please let me know so that i dont try it myself and end up in a mental hospital.

its not good to take valium all the time..it is just not good for you. I dont see the point in using it with psychedelics..what would you hope to gain combining valium with mushrooms or DMT?

DMT combines great with lots of drugs. However, IMHO, valium is not one of them. I would rather ingest some LSD and then smoke DMT for example. Or drink some ayahuasca and then smoke DMT. Pharmaceuticals + DMT just doesn't make any sense to me, unless of course you needed them to survive or something, and then you would need to consult a doctor about their interactions with tryptamines.

DMT acts as what I like to call a Central nervous system accelerator. This is why I don't recommend people combine it with things like alcohol, or downer pharmaceuticals, because the experience is so other-worldly, intense, and profound, it's hard to explain, but why have that kind of chemical flowing through a body that is experiencing divinity? This is, of course, just the way that I see it...

I would also like to point out where you say you have never traveled to hyperspace. So why would you want want to go deeper into your journey, without experiencing it first? You never know if the DMT itself will hit too hard for you. Why already look for a way to hit harder? Before you go about mixing effects with other substances. I would at first get some experience in DMT itself.

i appreciate all the information you guys have given me. i would first like to say that valium was just an example, and if i were to personally mix any substance with DMT that it would only be after using only DMT several times and making sure it isn't too strong for me. i have WAY too much respect for it to mix something with it for my first try.

Secondly, i agree that if if i were going to mix something with it, i would use another hallucinogen rather then a pharmaceutical medicine. for instance LSD, or maybe some form of herbal or natural hallucinogen like mushrooms or maybe even Heavenly Blue Morning Glory seeds? again, this is all just for curiosity reasons. Im trying to get as much information about DMT before i make my first voyage into the unknown.

Also agree with fractal on this one. If you are going to get there, start with just spice. Since breaking through almost all my recreational substance use had slowed down,or ceased to exist. I like to appreciate it for being what it is. Personally, I would keep looking around in here and dont feel rushed, it will call you when you are ready. [], that diagram is wonderful for new comers. Most folks here do indeed disapprove of using "downers" prior to journeying, with good reason as well. However some individuals get so anxious prior to, and during a DMT trip, that under these certain circumstances it might be rational to use a low level of a benzodiazepine ( certainly not to get high off them, if that's possible even). I've done it myself occasionaly with Valium, which by the way paradoxicaly increases my mental acuity, while diminishing destructive anxiety.
Alcohol is a definite no, no. As are the opiods, and synthetics.

Some people who've had a bad trip, could use benzodiazepines to get out of an anxiety tailspin, which can last days or more if not abruptly curtailed.

I do think they have a very minor role, mostly as a crutch for fragile pysches, but if you had only one leg, you'd still go for a walk using crutches, right?

Just to play devils advocate... I dosed a friend of mine for the first time after he had had a couple of Valium. He broke through and had an extremely therapeutic trip - and quit drinking super strength cider that he was getting very hooked on. He also hasn't touched Valium since, but said that he would have been too nervous before blasting off the first time otherwise.

So, he did it on Valium, he had the trip that he needed, and made some positive steps in his life. While I don't necessarily approve of using Spice and Benzos, it worked for my friend, so I certainly don't see it as all bad. Just don't rely on downers to deal with your anxiety every time, that is a natural thing that you need to overcome if you want to work with Spice IMO. For me, I either blast off from sober, or after a joint or two. Spice is good enough on its own.

I agree with Purges. Anxiety doesnt seem like a good feeling to have while journeying. Ive smoked spice on alcohol and benzos, cant say i noticed any difference other than less pre-flight anxiety. I still think its better to go sober and get a feeling for what the spice does itself, before trying to adjust your body to a more or less comfortable state.

Most of the time, any anxiety I get is pre-flight. By the time I'm done holding in my first hit (may take two), I've completely forgotten I was anxious at all, and things just avalanche from there
