Well, I looked over that tek. Even the poster to that link didnt know how to follow those directions. Many of the steps are not based in solid lab language. "Heat it till it is hot for 1 hour" ... I cant find hot on my thermometer.
I'm not saying that with a bunch of experiments that tek cant be fixed. But do you have the time to beta test that tek?
Personally I have not had any luck with a tek that used Vinigar, or lemon juice.

HCl is at the regional hardware store sold as Muriatic acid. Either 33%solution or 20% as pH balencer for pools. 8$

VM&P Naptha same hardware store, same isle as acid. Paint strippers section. 14$

Now NaOH, sodium hydroxide, caustic, caustic soda, lye. Its all the same thing. You can find Food grade caustic at culinary stores.. while your there pick up some whipits. Caustic is used for breads or pretzels. Or if you have a friend working at the pretzel place in the mall. 4$

What is your confusion, i don't know if its my computer or you don't have anything put down, you are having problems with this tek what is your confusion?

Honestly, there is a reason that tek is hard to find and there are not 100 pictures of different people's successful extraction's spice like many of the other teks.

While I am biased, if you have any way to acquire pickling lime then you are totally good for Q21Q21's tek. I've never get less than .85% yield which is in fact .12% higher than my HIGHEST using any other tek, my highest was something around 1.63% or something.

I know reading these teks your brain is screaming "LIGHTER FLUID, OH NO"
Well honestly just think of making some cereal with rubbing alcohol instead of milk.
You are obviously not going to stand over an huff it and you'd be wise to do it in a ventilated room. That is pretty much what it is like.

If you can find d-limonene then it is the same, it just smell like oranges but you still don't want to huff it.

I have done over 20 extractions. 3 using baking soda or sodium carbonate. The yields were: 0.0%, 0.0% and 0.0%

You don't have to use Q21Q21's tek but please use a tek that is likely to work because that one really really isn't.

I tried the Poor Man and somewhere in the middle (forget where) it went awkwardly wrong. Recently finished my first Q21Q21 with d-limo and lime. While I have yet to sample, the results LOOK right. And the d-limo smelled so good (ambient, no huffing) we now use it as household cleanser. I'm waving the q21q21 flag for the foreseeable future.
