Young souls that haven't created a strong enough character to choose for them selves. They make others tell them what to do and what not. If your mind isn't strong enough to think independent than how are you going to use your mind to navigate through the maze of a strong psychedelic trip? These substances are not for sheeps. Many people would only get terrified using these substances and freak out. Some of this stuff can make you crazy if you're not ready. And the law protects these people. If you're ment to use'em then you will. Nothing in the universe could have stopped me from trying out different kinds of drugs. I choose not to follow these laws because I feel like they do not apply to me I can see through it and I understand it. I feel like this is not coming out exacly how I see it but I'm too lazy to explain myself in more detail. Hope you get my point, but if not then I don't really care I just think the world is exacly how it is supposed to be! I can see a reason for all things. But that's the reason I see and doesn't need to be your reason.

Sure there are some thing you sacrifice when your living simple, but in my case i was living pretty good i tell you. I sold my guitar amp (about all I owned apart from a 1972 Toyota Crown) and setup a nice tent with a nice comfy bed. I could get a hot shower and use toilets anytime I wanted (when I was in a camp area), make a fire for warmth (and visions), work was easy (pipe being passed around all day) and most importantly no stress or weights on my mind. As for TV .. didn't miss it one little bit, it's just something to fill in the gaps and make you forget about reality. I can honestly say I didn't think I was doing it tough (the opposite), I guess not for everyone and of course it's entirely different compared to say a single mother of 3 kids trying to bring them up. That would be tough and I don't pretend to have ever gone through anything like that.

Hey rightangle, I agree mate in a certain way. I could do without my TV too, I was just using that as an example. I only have two questions for you. 1. Was this outdoor living in summer or winter? 2. Why are you not still living in this manner? I think its different to stay like this for six months than to live your whole life like this. Peace bro.

I did winter and summer, all over the place. It isn't too hard to keep warm, it's the heat that can be the killer. I actually stopped because my car broke down on the way back up, after visiting family for xmas. I must have done 10,000km in the previous few months and then within 60 seconds first the alternater failed and then a spring in the carby broke flooding the float. I couldn't get back up to the start of work and ended up getting another accomodation offer with some old friends and then a part time job offer, then I got involved with the internet, hooked up with a girl friend, cats and now a business, first house and all of that. I was under pressure to give up that lifestyle, but by the time I did I certainly had not tired of it. I was fit and healthy and about 10 years younger. Perhaps I would have tired of, I don't know, but I always remember it is as the best time in my life. I've always had a feeling that I wanted to run away in live in a on my own since I was very young, so it was kinda like a dream come true when I did it.

It's about sharing the burden with your neighbors. Cutting your costs down to a minimum, avoiding the trap of consumerism and freeing your time because you have to work less. Not to mention that families can help each other raise the children and... if you do this in eco~fiendly sustainable homes you would be disconnected from the grid. The community could even go as far as to use only diesel vehicles and make it's own bio~diesel fuel by recycling waste oil from restaurants! The possibilities are almost limitless when people come together in such a way! In short... If you do things right, you can have your cake and eat it too!

hey man,I had just heard of Tool but I never heard any of thier music.so finaly today I aquired a whole bunch of tool songs and they are fucking good.These days I usually listen to Pantera,Damagplan,Black Label Society,Megadeth,never get tired of Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath,but I gotta say these Tool guys rock.they are Quantum approved.

SOAD are insane. I love the film clip for Spiders. And Tool have the absolute BEST frikin videos quantum if you only just discovered Tool watch the Parabola clip. It blew my mind when I first saw it Just finished reading "the spirit molecule" and I must say I'm jealous. All that 100% DMT. Sign me up man,... I like science

The whole concept of the album lines up well with the mindset of entheogen enthusiasts, but if you haven't seen the art (by Alex Grey) on the sleeve or any of the videos (collaboration between Alex Grey and Adam Jones) from this album you are missing out! Hell, check out all their videos they are all amazingly creative and highly psychedelic! They are an incredible act live! By far the best show I've ever seen and I've been to many 'a' show! I like SOAD's self titled first release. Dime Bag Darrell of Pantera was a guitar god! May he rest in peace. I love old Megadeth man! Rust in Peace is my favourite Megadeth album! And of course you can't leave out the grandfather of metal, Black Sabbath! :twisted: QB, if you like metal man you should check out Shadows Fall. They are the shite! I could make one hell of a profit man! :twisted: I love the art work on 10,000 Days too. It's just the whole concept of Lateralus that blows my mind! The art work just tops off the whole experience of this amazing album! You should have seen the Lateralus tour. It was something to see... that's for sure! I was blown away after watching them perform with all kinds of visuals, huge murals of Alex Greys' work dropping from the ceiling, a giant black light luminescent back drop of Alex's "Interbeing" was on display for half of the show. Then after a short intermission they lit up another luminescent back drop of "Collective Vision"! The finale' consisted of various 20 foot long paintings, by Alex, dropping from the roof. There were videos on either side of the stage playing through out the entire performance (all by Adam Jones). And of course Maynard with his Thespian like stage presence. But the music was the best part! They played the entire finale on Lateralus perfectly. First "Disposition", then "Reflection", followed by "Triad". Just as it is on the album! You know these three tracks were actually meant to be one track, but the label made them divide it into three because it was so long! I mean were talking like, almost 30 min. of music! Man... they blow my mind! :shock:

Well this thread has strayed into the realm of being very off topic. I haven't clicked the link to the PDF but I really do hope that it was Strassman who has allowed his work to be posted for free. I tend to think copyrights can be somewhat oppressive but in this case I would hate for Strassman to miss out on the fruits of his labor. I read DMT: The Spirit Molecule and I found Strassman to present his research as a true scientist . Too often psychedelic enthusiasts tend to lean a bit to far in favour of a substance. Strassman was straight up about his findings. Another great thing about the book is that despite Strassmans scientific objectivity he wasn't afraid to address some of the more extreme interpretations of the dmt experience . Keep in mind that Dr. Rick Strassman will also autograph a copy of his book if you buy it from his site rickstrassman.com . I also think that Rick has pulled off some serious PR reformation for DMT with his referring to it as the "Spirit Molecule".

Thanks for the link, Heyoka. I was thinking about buying the book, because I don't like to read eBooks from my computer screen. I also don't mind contributing to Strassman's work. The book is $23 in Holland and I won't get an autographed version here It seems Strassman is making a documentary about DMT at the moment... Does anyone know anything about this?
