Swim is doing an Acid/Base Extraction(Marsofolds Tek) and swim is supposed to basify at a PH of 13. Does swim add the acidic solution to the crockpot or does swim add the acidic solution to the wine jug after the mimosa is mixed with the water-vinegar solution and poured out? Swim is confused as to what mixture he is supposed to have at a PH of 13 Also, the Tek does very little to explain other requirements for PH. Should swim monitor the PH level of any other steps? What is the best way to change the PH to the desired level?

Short answer: Use lye after the bark is extracted with the acid.

Sorry, you probably won't get any useful responses because there is so much information you need to read.

Just browse through the forums and look on the wiki (up by attitude|faq|chat, etc) You need to spend at least a few more hours browsing the forums before asking a question that is in at least a few dozen threads.

Sorry if SWIM sounds high-than-thou but that question is a true sign of lack of reading and searching on the forum you are on.

I'm sure you are a great person and you will have a great time with these substances, but if you are planning an extraction you should be prepared to do a bunch of reasearch.

dont worry about pH.. if you just splash 'some' vinegar in water, its fine.. just do 3x boils, filter each time adding fresh water+vinegar.. at the end, throw away solids, put liquids together, THEN add the base.. Also no worries about pH, just add lye until solution goes black, and then add some more just in case.. and thats it..
