Does Naphtha react with aluminum foil?

swim wants to know because he just completed his first extraction and has the dmt saturated naphtha evaporating in drinking glasses but, the problem is he has no glass baking pans that he can use to make the process go faster.

Could swim make an aluminum foil pan sort of thing and pour the naphtha solution out onto it to evap without any ill effects, or does the naphtha react badly with the foil?

Spaceman.... I am not sure about the naphtha and foil. I have used foil to cap my glass shotglasses when doing re-x and never noticed any reaction. You could always test it yourself to see.

But....you should really be freeze precipitating your goodies from that naphtha. If its really saturated just put it in the freezer for a couple days. You will find clean white crystals forming on the glass If its not really saturated...evap it down and then put it in the freezer. The freeze precip does more than just avoid waiting for evaporation... it produces cleaner more pure product than just evaping your naphtha.

swim should mention that he THINKS his naphtha pulls aren't really saturated, but he did put it in the freezer for about two and a half hours in a glass. He saw white bumps about 3mm or so across in the bottom of the glass and took it out of the freezer and poured the naphtha out of the cup but the big white clumps sort of vanished. There was a tiny amount left in the bottom of the glass.

He's wondering if he's doing the freeze evap correctly, should he be seeing crystals above the naphtha in the glass stuck to the walls or in the naphtha on the bottom of the glass.

he saved the naphtha he poured out because he thought it still contained a lot of goodies but doesn't feel he knows how to freeze evap. He's guessing from your post though that his problem is because he left the glass in the freezer for a few hours and not days.

But one thing swim noticed is that the glass he poured the cold naphtha from when he got it out of the freezer was covered in a fine mist and that there was a dried ring stain on his counter after he took the cup away he decided to scrap it with a razor blade and was shocked to see that the razor picked up a fine white crystal substance from the counter. So dmt must of been on the outside of the glass and gotten onto the counter and dried. should this sort of thing happen and how to avoid it?

and yes he read somewhere about the lye foil thing but thanks anyway.
