Intriguing post, nice to see so many couples together journeying

I myself have a girlfriend, we are over 1year she is my first gf and i think i found the right one, however when it comes to drugs she is (though, mostly was) obsessed... It took me a few months of convincing that psychedelics are not the same as opiates as whenever i rolled a green or talked about anything else she thought i was a drug addict. In her family illegal (legal is all good...) drug is very bad and anyone who ever does anything illegal will end up a heroine addict..

I remember when i first got to this forum i didnt register for some time was just reading, and when she saw i had to explain who you-the forum members really are and ofc it took her a mere second to conclude dmt-nexus is a junkie website full of druggies... Took me some weeks to convince her and educate her in this matter high enough so she would understand the difference between addictive drugs and so on...

Now she tried weed and liked it, the irony of that but i doubt she will ever do anything higher.

My wife felt somewhat the same way towards drugs. She thought they are all "crack". I've had to show her, by leading a successful life. That the "drugs" I use, are different then the drugs used by the addicts on intervention. When we first started dating 7 years ago, I showed her my mushroom grow cabinet. I thought, although she has no interest in them, she may appreciate my unique (to her) hobby. She was a science major in university so I thought she may think it was cool on a scientific level. Since she was into me in a big way in the beginning, she was kinda turned on by what I had growing on. I guess showing her that part of me early was a good move. We've been married 3 years now, with a 2 year old daughter. We are happy together.

Ill never forget that night. Ayahuasca is truly 'a medicine', an interactive one at that. Sure, it can afford glimpses of our other nature, but it is extremely powerful in the respects of being a medicine; heavily underutilized imho.

That night though, it was as if my patterning merged with hers, and that my positive/upbeat patterns were coalescing into one, and i was 'becoming' her patterns for a brief period. It was like being in a city with hundreds of cars and people moving by, but instead these 'people and cars' were thoughts and emotions within her. As her energy changed, these thoughts/emotions/etc rapidly reconstructed in positive/upbeat/loving ones.

All it took on my part was intent and honesty. It seems when we're 110% completely open and honest with ourselves, things open up....things happen. All i'll say is this - seeing the bond you share with one that you deeply love whilst deep in an altered state is something to behold, something beyond breathtaking, something that makes you see how intensely special love truly is. Love is certainly the most powerful force in the universe, for im sure of that..

You guys/gals seem pretty lucky.

Mine thinks that its honest to god "evil" and that its all lies ect. She wont even talk about it with me and doesn't know I use it. It sucks real hard but there's alot of other things we have in common and unfortunately dmt isn't one, no matter how much I think it would make our relationship closer

Man, it is hard for me to not talk about this in some way or another..everytime I go for a walk at this point I am id'ing different grasses and plants, mushrooms etc..my brian is wired to think this way now. Everytime I look at nature my mind starts to wonder where the tryptamines are at, what the function is etc..

If I couldnt talk about this to my gf she would have left my ass long ago I am certain lol.

I have once been in the situation where I was with someone who did not share my opinion here and it was not as pleasant. Each persons situation is gunna be different though. I couldnt never hide this part of my life from someone like that..for me that would be a dealbreaker unless I already had a family with them etc. I just could not get to that point of closeness with someone I guess having to hide this part of me.

Thanks for the compassion friends.. I've learned to look at it as sort of a challenge. If I can integrate my dmt experiences of love and compassion and fix the junk in my life maybe one day she will see that dmt isn't bad at all. I really couldn't imagine if I had someone to talk to about dmt in real life lol everyone thinks its just a drug and its stupid... one day all will be what it should be

For myself: she knows about it, but thinks it's not on her path to go deep, but she does experience benefit of a microdose of harmalas now and then. She also monitors my progress and grant me the medicine for that. I would like to have partner to travel together, but this will not happen with her. All in all the situation is workable.

I am confident that had my wife not noticed the positive effects in my own life, she would not have tried for herself.. Not only that I feel an ultimatum of sorts would not have been too far off (if it seemed like I was just getting off for kicks and as such ignoring my family responsibilities)..

Thankfully, the healing capacity of DMT has worked wonders for me (though I know it's the start of a long old slog) and has given her a little hand also hehe.

I hope the "proof of the pudding" factor will be prevalent in your own path :thumb_up:

My partner is a weird one for these things, though she takes several pills a day for different health issues (even taking 200mg + a night of Seroquel/Quetiapine) she looks at Psy chemicals as dangerous & stuff that is going to make you mad.

She will sit on her throne casting all types of "wisdom" on the RC scene yet when I have a "new toy" to play with she wants to have a go too.

"Mexxy" MXE was a fine example, scared to death to try it, we had huge fights over my use of it etc yet when she 1st did it (and it was her 1st Psy experience too) she loved it & ended up with a real issue from over use.

She refuses to do Yage or 5-MeO with me though, but I am sure by the time she has read through "Food of The Gods" by McKenna she will wanting to go to the Amazon as much as I do

No, for the most part she just tolerates my habits.

We had some really good bonding experiences on mushrooms, but we had one experience where we took way too much & that really shook her up.

We've smoked DMT one after the other, but that wasn't like the mushrooms. It was like one of us went into hyperspace while the other watched so she never really got into DMT. She did enjoy it though.

I think she knows I will do what I want with or without her blessing, so she just lets it run its course.

My girlfriend and I were solid psychonaut partners for years. A serious illness forced her to quit and I pretty much did too because I was under so much stress my "set" wasn't right. Now I've discovered DMT and LOVE it. So fantastic and makes me feel so good. I had actually done it twice before but now I obtained a bunch of it and doing some serious experimentation. She won't touch it though because her last experience was very frightening. Luckily she is very supportive of me. I'm glad because I love nothing better than laying in our bed curled up in her arms whilst I'm trippin'. DMT is a real turn on for me...my kundalini energy really gets going and after the intense part of the trip I have a wonderful feeling akin to ecstasy and get great pleasure from my body. Anyways that's my story. Maybe you can get your partner to cuddle with you too!

I guess I have some friends who dont consume any other drugs then THC and some who consum no drugs...
Most of them are ok with my "hobby" but I made the experience that those who deal with THC are not that open to Dmt then those who consum nothing...I ask myself why?

Actually I dont have a girlfriend but my Ex also didnt consum any other then THC and we broke about it.

No offence at all here..I am just curious..how do you be with someone that simply "tolerates" something like that in your life that must be a big influence/part of your life. I dont know how you can do these things without having it make a large impact in some way.

I dont think I could ever be with a person who simply tolerated this part of me. For me it would not be worth it. I would feel like I am selling myself short for someone who just does not really like a part of me that makes me who I am. They dont have to want to trip with me or be interested in it, but having someone that can support me is important for me. Anything else would be a dealbreaker.

I was single for about 4.5 years from the time I was 22 to 26 without having any kind of relationship with a girl because I got sick of being in situations like that. I am thankful I got to connect with someone who has roots in the whole psychedelic thing as I do. I guess from my perspective I just cannot imagine just being tolerated so I find it interesting that some people are that situation. Are you happy with that sort of s situation?

Really this is just something I am curious about becasue it is something I perceive often in other peoples relationships and sometimes it seems like the people are forced to sort of lead split lives..maybe thats true of all siutations to some degree though..

It's complicated.

When I broke my back & I couldn't walk she was there to feed me, clean up my shit & piss and wipe my arse etc. She paid the bills and kept me from being evicted. I was basically ostracised from humanity at that point and denied even the most basic medical treatment.

From a circle of 12 friends that were really tight, none of them were there when the chips were down, they just stopped coming around and were even contemptuous when I'd try to ring them. It was like I had the plague. Even my direct family gave up on me.

What do you call a true friend anyway ? Someone who will get on the drugs with you or someone that will stand by you no matter what ?

To be honest she is not really the type I would have chosen or the type I did go for before I broke my back, we were thrown together by circumstance.

She could suck a golf ball through a garden hose though, so it's no all woe and misery
