Looking at this case with the warning about bandwidth limit reached I would say that this was either a DDoS or a 'bandwidth-depletion attack'.rOm said:
With a bandwidth-depletion attack you keep downloading from the site until the periodic bandwidth limit is reached. With a successful DDoS you would not see the site at all but with a partial successful DDoS it is also possible to reach a periodic bandwidth limit without getting the site down.
