I have an experiment running at the moment, and as soon as my fumaric acid arrives by courier, I will base and FASA. Hopefully this tech would take care of any funny oils or metals or stuff from under the sea. 
I did a A/B tech first, and salt tech by adding 30g of NaCl in 100ml water, and bringing it to almost boil, then added it after it cooled down a bit. It is a very jelly like mixture, but soft after rehydration of my dried product. So the pulverization was easier than I thought, as this stuff is tough once dried out. Next time I will do the pulverization before drying the roughly hand cut material. Or just work with the jelly material
