electronics troubleshooting help needed

Migrated topic.
Normally I'd troubleshoot my own equipment..but down to the electrical component level, I don't have the time nor resources. I have an old Fluke 77 and Weller soldering iron, but that's it.

I'm looking to drop another G or two on a variable wavelength detector, as the RAM on mine is shot. The other one I have, needs
a new flowcell. Just found out today, the FTIR needs a new LCD. I don't know wth is going on..I thought it might've been a power surge, but my flash chrom is fine, so is the uhplc pump.

Located in Canada, Paul Carlson (and his channel) is no less than GOD in electronics repair.
He has some vids especially about repairing power supplies:

Repairing switched power supplies:

Repairing regular power supplies, less likely useful:

There is something wonderful about him, the way explains things is quite to the hearth, I wish all my teachers were like him.
