Im sure most can recognize how things get much safer doing some of this dreaming outdoors.
Extracting spice can be done pretty easy provided the container is protected from sunlight and of course, in an area that wont be disturbed and such.
Swim's question, or rather his delimma, is that he must also evap outdoors, away from his property. He has found a location that is basically in the wilderness, away from civilization etc... problem is, its fall, and cool- cold (temps ranging from 45ish to 65ish F. Though temps could very well dip to 20 or so over the next couple of weeks.
Here is what swim is thinking of doing:
putting washed solvent in multiple pyrex dishes inside plastic totes. The totes will have two wholes cut out on each side with some filter type material that will keep out water, dirt, bugs etc., and allow air circulation. A (non arcing) computer fan will be inside the tote, with the chord coming out of a tiny whole that connects with a 12V battery that will be housed in a plastic container of its own outside of the evaporation 'box'.
Swim knows to have fan connected SAFELY to battery before any exposure to solvent fumes and such-
The problem that swim worries about- condensation... Swim worries about frosts, high humidity and all that. He wonders and worries if maybe this is a bad idea.
He doesnt want to have to collect his solvent and have to sit on it for an indefinate period of time (hes never done this before and worries that the spice will degrade- anyone have input on this as well?)
Thoughts, ideas....? Does anyone think that putting a boatload of drying agent into the bottom of the evaporation tote will actually help?
Thanks!
