Extracting from pre-germinated Seeds ?

Migrated topic.

I read about it somewhere on the Net .

Has anybody tried this , pre germinating LSA Seeds ?

I guess germinating won't hurt those Alkies , will it ?!

That isn't a safe assumption. Chemical composition inevitably changes upon germinating a seed. I suppose it's not impossible that the concentration of desirable ergoline alkaloids might increase or remain the same, but I certainly wouldn't bank on it.

There is a practice of partially germinating cebil seeds before making a snuff from them. The seeds are put in a tiny bit of water for a few days, and then when they are just starting to germinate, the seeds coats are slipped off and discarded, they are then toasted, ground, mixed with lime and water, allowed to react over night (kneading occasionally), and then they are toasted again, ground again, and it's ready for use.

SWIM tried this technique, but didn’t make snuff from it. Instead once the seeds started to germinate, he slipped of the seed coats (which was super easy at this point), and then dried the seeds at 155 F, then ground them, and then proceeded to do his normal Soxhlet extraction on them using 91% IPA. The yield was fantastic. I’m not sure if the germination had anything to do with the yield, but it was phenomenal! It was one of the highest bufotenine yields ever.

It's worth giving it a try with LSA seeds.

Many plants, at germination time, increase their "toxins" dramatically, to fend off herbivores. If the LSA containing seeds produce LSA/LSH for this purpose, then it’s likely to increase the potency of the seeds. But if LSA/LSH are used by the plant to make another compound it uses as it’s main “toxin”, then the LSA/LSH content should diminish. It all depends on the plant.

With cebil seeds, the plant seems to increase it's bufotenine content and reduce it's DMT content as it germinates. It apparently uses DMT to make bufotenine, and considers bufotenine to be the "toxin". More mature seeds have more bufotenine and less DMT. So it's very likely that during germination, the plant converts all the remaining DMT to bufotenine, thereby increasing the potency of the seeds.
