Extraction teks... Waste of cactus... :/

So been a member of this site for a few weeks but been attempting cactus extractions for a few months now..

First with Shulgins Extraction tek found on erowid: Erowid Cacti Vault : San Pedro Alkaloid Extraction

Then with creating a simple tea: Erowid Cacti Vaults : Visionary Cactus Guide - Methods of Preparation

Then again a failed salt extraction and after we thought we would try a simple resin extraction. This sounded the easiest so we used a decent amount of cactus. (all in all we have probably wasted 30ft of cacti...)

This tek: House's cacti preparation tek - DMT-Nexus Wiki Seemed super easy and we followed everything pretty much exactly.. Only difference was we had to move the project to a different house which means we had to put the cacti and tea in portable bottles..

Came up with a decent amount of resin the first time we have actually managed to get anything out of the cacti however on the resin extraction thread it says that 10g was usually a good dose to start with..

So instead of messing around my friend ate 25g in the first dose.. After 3hrs no affects so he finished his further 20g of resin.. Still no affects only a disgusting feeling in his body that lasted till the next day...

Must say swim is getting tired of trying something that swim has a feeling isnt much stronger then Psilocybin.. Dont really know what to do anymore as all teks seem to be failing... Maybe the cacti has little or no mescaline content although swim would find it wierd as its easyily over 20yrs old..

swim must say that after all this failure my friend is tempted to just grow these beautiful cacti however swim feels sad that we will not be able to enjoy everything they have to offer..

ime, old growth cacti is very weak, once processed well over 200' and got a gram or so
so yeah, start with better, bitter cacti

Ya aged cacti are pretty weak in mescaline content, Swim got absolutely no mesc yeild from a 20 year pedro he once bought.

It makes sense from a biological standpoint. Mescaline and other alks are part of the plants defense mechanisms, which are typically produced more in young plants to fend off predators while the plant is most susceptible. Old larger species dont need as much protection. Kindof like how a small scorpion's sting can kill you while a large scorpion's sting is usually non-fatal.

Not completely certain but I think taking small cuttings from those large cacti and planting new cacti will produce cacti with more alk content. Normally when you attempt THAT many extractions and each fail, question the starting material.

this gives me an idea... swab young cacti with precursors in DMSO, since the enzymes
are actively being expressed in them.
