So, my copy, #7 of 200, of the limited edition signed hardcover arrived today! It's a beautiful book! The first 200 pages are like an annotated Merck Manual for the plant tryptamines and in addition has extensive citations of known plant sources and the assays of alkaloid content, etc., in the literature for each alkaloid. There are listings of color reactions and chromophoretic reagents for the various alkaloids and recipes for the reagents. There's information on various types of extraction, purification and analysis procedures including an interesting overview of the extraction procedures used by "real chemists" in the literature in which they report on alkaloid content of whatever plant, and a useful table summarizing the properties of common solvents. There's a nice section with pictures on free-base pipes, including "The Machine", and some other delivery methods. The book contains an extensive bibliography and scattered throughout are loads of color pics of various Plant Teachers. Oh yeah, Noman made it onto page 228, where it says 'Google "noman" for an even simpler approach' (refering to DMT extraction.) Congrats, Noman! -z
