Fine mesh for a machine?

The only mesh I've been able to find around here is very fine/thin copper, and I seem to recall somebody advising against that, but I can't find or remember where. And I'm not sure if they meant mesh or actual wool. I do NOT have a wool pad, I have the mesh. I'm having trouble finding a ruler, but off hand I would say the mesh is about 1-2mm thick. Will this still work? Anybody have any issues or experience with the thin stuff? Let me know, I am hoping to finally test my product and take my first steps into hyperspace tomorrow night! I am both excited and nervous. Thanks in advance for your time and input!

Edit: If anyone cares to chime in on bottle size that'd be awesome too. I found a 5oz/150ml bottle with a wide enough neck. Too big?

I don't think the bottle has to be too big...Just the neck has to be large enough to hold the mesh.
I got an old Salt bottle from a charity shop and modified it

CYB- ok. so where do you put the mesh? in the neck and screw on the metal top?
If so then you have the Electric Kool-Aid spice launcher!!!(TM) mine was made with that top!
does it work good?? get the screen adjusted just right and you will breakthrough every time! just like the gvg!

whatever you do dont put the spice in the long tube! that is defeating the vaporizing technique!

I based mine on your wonderful Vinegar Bot...same principal!...
Long tube is for pure sucking pleasure only..
Do you use just scrubber or have some mesh screens in there too?

For anyone that may find this through search in the future, do NOT, I repeat DO NOT use fine copper mesh. After heating and cleaning it becomes too brittle and it just all falls apart, including tons of gritty little pieces that would not be nice on your lungs and get all up in your machine.

Both looks ok to me , that mesh is probably only steel one, copper coated but it will do the job just fine. Just make a machine and nice mesh disc. You can find all the info about how on this site. Good luck my friend

^ LOVE that machine. I'll upload a pic of my machine when I can get access to my wife's iphone. The mesh was fine, but only after a LOT of crunching and messing with it until it stopped shedding gritty crap. So far I've done 12mg, 25mg, 40mg, and 50mg out of it. The 25mg I remember best (not counting the 12 which hardly did anything) and got the coolest traditional visuals. The 40mg was a very profound breakthrough, the 50mg I hardly remember at all.

As far as smoking devices go though, wouldn't a sneak-a-toke with some mesh balled up and put inside work just fine? It certainly looks like it would. Something like this.

Cyb - AWESOME!! Great job man! Where do you get the glass tubes from?

I usually have my machine lid facing up. But I guess it could be any way. Nice to have the hole on the side.

Heavy - that small toker will work, but the thing is you can't see the smoke. But then if it is setup right then it should be fine.
