First 3 times smoking DMT. Instantaneous Breakthrough?

Thanks for clicking. So ever since I heard about DMT(2 years ago) I’ve been intrigued, very intrigued. I must’ve watched every video on the net (10x) about the substance and trip reports and it’s like DMT has been calling me. I just had to see what this was , I had to try it. Finally the molecule found its way to me, the first time I tried it, I barely got a half a hit. That was a very very mild trip. Everything got quite and time slowed down in unison as I exhaled, accompanied with slight visuals similar to LSD.

Two days later I get a bunch and feel I have a handle on what’s going to happen lol. My 2nd time was super intense and frighteningly fast acting. First few seconds I was stuck in a loop which was a bit of a torment, I thought “oh no I broke my brain and I’m stuck like this” . After about 30secs felt better and settled into the experience.

The next morning I put at least 70-80mg and got just about all of it down in one long slow inhale as I’m about to stop hitting the pipe my vision started to vibrate rapidly and as I began to exhale BAM!!!! In a flash I was somewhere else, the first few seconds was like a time loop but omg the complexity and beauty was beyond description. There was other people there, they looked like humans, and there was a woman next to me all I could see of her was her flower dress like I was sitting and she was standing slightly behind me to my left. I felt that she was making sure I was ok and also protecting me. I was sending thoughts of love to them and happiness. As I’m in shock and awe a friendly Cat jumps up next to me I tried to pet hit but had no hands.. it was a normal looking cat just like in normal earth reality. I felt almost like the people I seen were possibly my spirit guides even the cat. I’m certain the woman next to me was making sure I was good and not panicking.

Basically I always heard you need 3 hits to breakthrough, my question is can you breakthrough with one monster hit?
There was no sound build up, no tunnel, no rushing feeling, just Bam in a flash there.. there was no way to even take another hit I was gone.

One hit instantaneous breakthrough possible?

It is just a question of how much DMT you got into your bloodstream and carried to your synapses. It certainly must be possible with one hit.

I'm a bit confused about other people's trip descriptions, because mine were/are absolutely nothing like what I've read of others' experiences. I've taken lower doses than most describe and gotten what I'd call the "breakthrough" experience with 36 and 27 mg doses. In mine, I am suddenly somewhere else, a different dimension would be accurate, having my conscious connection to my body and ability to do anything but simply observe taken apart piece by piece. Then I'm in an indescribably strange place with other entities. It's exceptionally difficult to remember and too strange to describe in any sort of satisfactory manner. Eventually I am again aware of my body, and the memory of the trip leaves like waking up from a dream.

No tunnels, no chrysanthemum, no carrier wave. Entities, yes, but no ability to interact with them. I'm not even capable of something as simple as sending "thoughts of love". All I can do is observe, be aware.

It's such a weird experience. I would not describe where I go as beautiful. I would not describe the entities as spirit guides, or as good, or as evil. And the trip may be different for everyone. Ok, it definitely must be different for everyone. But from what I've experienced, to add these kinds of descriptions to my experience would seem like putting inaccurate labels on the objects of the experience in order to make more sense of them in baseline reality, like filling in the gaps of a poorly remembered dream.

On the 2 "breakthroughs", the visual I see when being taken apart at the start, it was the same one each time, I remember that. I vaguely remember what the visual is, but I can't describe it well. I think I can see something reminiscent of DNA. I feel other presences there. I see something like a sphere. It's very colorful, what I'd describe as psychedelic, but not fractal. It's organic.

I'm not convinced yet that "breakthrough" is particularly useful language, but I'm not sure. It seems to me to lend itself to treating DMT as something to conquer, like climbing a mountain, doesnt it? You reach the peak, you climb down, you've been there, done that, you feel like a badass, and it's on to the next one.

Did you get something out of the experience? Was it valuable? Why is it important whether it was a "breakthrough"?

After taking DMT, I find that I spend so much more time thinking about the experience, trying to remember the experience, trying to understand the experience, than I spend actually inside the experience. As long as taking DMT is having this effect on me, giving me something that I need to figure out, I want to keep taking it. What my trip qualifies as is really not important, you know?

Imo that's how you do it. Not necessarily the 70-80mg, but what I mean is the whole thing in one hit

I think you just answered your own question there.

Your description is pretty accurate.

Back when he was writing about it, McKenna could say just about anything regarding DMT because hardly anyone had done it to confront him. Almost all the language comes from his talks and books from the 90's. His narrative was entertaining and imaginative not necessarily informative. Unfortunately, since he experienced an apotheosis to the bard of the scene, the myths he created have become gospel to many people. Along with Strassman's hypotheses being taken literally it is one of the greatest sources of expectations and therefore confusing disappointment with novel experiencers of DMT.

I know there were several talks Mckenna gave after the fact, stating how inadequate his descriptions were, and that they were just progressions towards the actual thing in and of itself. A veneer that he put over the actual experience and the encounter/s within it, i.e.: self-transforming machine elves, etc.

Same goes for the jester bit that I read alot. Imo I think the term jester, mantid, or any of those, they're all pretty flimsy terms and a personage of sorts, but imo/e not even close to what's actually experienced.

Yeah its strong and fast when you take one big rip Cool trip man. Appear there and there is a beautiful woman...that happens, and yeah they seem protective so that one doesn't panic.

And well said null. The problem was how he phrased one particular recording were he talks as if the mandala and chrysanthenum and machine elves happened to everyone, and it like happens to no one xD
