The smell is quite unique! richly floral
Particular difficulty was keeping crystals from melting since the temp here is now 30C, 86F
The mother of all "melting crystals" post is this one, incase anyone needs it
Big props to Desal who gave me the key to whole thing

Low yield, but a lot of learning
Take aways:
- don't use jars! use pyrex dishes with lids
- immediately after taking out of the freezer and decanting the naphta go to high-speed fan ... speed is of the essence at this point, if not crystals will remelt. Or place in fridge for several hours till crystals harden

Now unto making changa and having my first journey into the "secret of all secrets"

"The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
People (nexians) are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep."
Rumi

Gratitude to Life

from the research i've done
it seems that pure dmt can take you to the "deep end" insanely quick,
that it's almost impossible to swim in the "shallow" water and get a feel for it.
but maybe i'm completely wrong about this ...

so i've decide to make change with heave harmala, to get a feel for the whole thing

do you advise otherwise?

It's a personal choice. I mostly smoke changa now but I started out with freebase, and I still smoke it fairly often (in the form of enhanced leaf but without harmalas). My first breakthrough was before I ever tried changa, and that trip is one of the defining moments of my life. I'm enjoy that I knew the effects of DMT on it's own before mixing it with harmalas. I also tried harmalas on their own via extract and caapi tea before mixing them with DMT. I like to get a feel for how my body reacts to chemicals before mixing them.

Anyway, pure DMT definitely can take you to the deep end that is an undeniable fact. I'd also agree that there is a general consensus that changa seems to be more friendly than freebase on it's own. If you are nervous about the whole thing I can see why you would want to start with changa. However assuming you have milligram scales an can measure an accurate dose I 100% think that there is room to experiment with DMT all on it's lonesome.

Starting with changa first is a fine option, but after you get the hang of it and lose some of the anxiety around it I definitely think you should try DMT on it's own sometime if you choose not to start with it. Changa is a nice experience, but there is something about straight DMT that stands out and should be pursued.

Thank you for such a fine response brother
I have a scale .001
I will start with Changa to get the feel of it
Then will venture into pure DMT (probably enhance some leaf without the harmalas)
The smell of it is quite unique ... deep floral amber smell

Brother, now you got really curious about the straight DMT
But i have also read some hair-raising fear inducing stories

Hey explorer,

I think it's totally ok if you want to wait for changa.

But in response to this:

it seems that pure dmt can take you to the "deep end" insanely quick,

I should tell you that I started out thinking the same thing.

But, I got impatient :want: ... so I loaded up a very small (5mg) in my pipe with cannabis using the sandwich method. I liked what I felt, so I added a bit more the next time.

By the 3rd or 4th time, I had only experienced very low dose, threshold effects. In essence, I was slowly building familiar ground by experiencing the onset, peak, and comedown effects with less intensity.

The wonder of this was that each time, I wanted more. I would tell myself I wanted more during the trip. And it was this that I'd remember the next time I wanted to smoke and was feeling anxious.

When I finally broke through, 8th or 9th trip, I was so ready for it, and it naturally came on. I had a fantastic time. (Read about it here.)

I just wanted to share with you the idea of slowly getting your feet wet with dmt crystals. Changa is said to have that more gentle onset, but I created my own gentle onset by gradually increasing the dose and building a relationship with her

Adjhart,

Thanks for your suggestion
I read your breakthrough report ... fantastic man

i'm in the process of making changa, so will give that a try and then try pure DMT

Very nice looking dmt crystals there explorer7  , I'm glad you've got the foresight to recognize the mistakes or a easier way of dealing with the variable technics when dealing with extractions ! The more you do the easier it becomes and better results , well done mate

Congratulations! Nothing beats the smell of fresh DMT, it has a very distinct and flowerish smell!
Happy travels!

Thank you Tihkal and Tattvamasi
The smell is so distinct, def flowery

I used 100g of MHRB and got .85g
However lots was wasted in spilled solvent and several difficulties in drying
:-)

Don't worry, you'll get better and more efficient with every time. I enjoy making mistakes because I make sure they never happen again.

I was not a full member when you posted this, so I was not able to say anything, but am now, and good job brother! <3 I am glad to have been of service :)
