First taste of spice at age 41 - thank you Noman!

Migrated topic.
Hello Again,

Thanks for the replies and advice all. It is really difficult for anyone to offend me these days or for me to take anything the wrong way. At the worst, I will ignore extraneous, nonsensical or offensive input. One of my many and varied life experiences includes multiple experiences of physical torture (one explanation for the GRINDING degenerative arthritis plaguing my shoulder, dammit). Sorry if this is TMI but having gone there and learned that no one could HURT ME (I learned that I could easily and in reality die first, but fortunately did not have to), I must say that words do not seem to penetrate at all these days.

What does "There are no girls on the interwebs" mean? Should I get uppity (see if I can get a rise from people with thinner armor) and ask if there are any women on these mysterious interwebs?😉 Perhaps I should attempt to penetrate this realm. LOL.

I have been to a number of science fiction conventions, film (Star Wars and others) premiers and other events including chess tournaments (I believe these quailify as geek-out). Though the female presence is less, it is significant, especially among the youth. I continue to be surprised and perhaps a bit dissapointed.

Not sure I buy the hypothesis that females aren't into subconscious exploration - all humans have an IMPERATIVE to alter their consciousness and few of us can satisfy that simply with sleep. Now as to whether female psychedelic users are a minority, my past experiences with being on Grateful Dead tour would indicate otherwise.

Females not playing with plants and solvents. Hmmm, might be onto something here. Speaking as a legal grower of cannabis, I must say that I seldom see female growers buying clones at the dispensaries. Playing with solvents probably even more so. SWIM didn't like the idea, but she was VERY determined to procure DMT and was NOT going to go the street/dealer route. Also, being a Libertarian, SWIM felt that it was her right as a free American to experiment with her consciousness by extracting DMT from a simple plant!

In general, men reading and posting more at forums seems quite acceptable but a bit mysterious. After all (in general), we females are the devastatingly verbal ones (just ask my husband) and we tend to be able to type fairly fast.

I am absolutely LOVING the caliber of the discussions here and am feeling very, very welcomed.

Thanks Again &
Peace

I never really understood the whole "There are no girls on the interwebz" thing. I mean, why wouldn't there be? I have noticed that many females seem to get "run off" from forums or other social internet groups because many of the males on the internet seem to be intimidated (or just awed) by a female.

My girlfriend regularly posts on forums (although she does pose as a guy, lol), indulges in spice and other substances, and has even been helping me with my spice extractions. I guess that because of this I see females on the internet in a completely different light. I understand that many males pose as females for whatever reason, but as I said earlier that works both ways. My girlfriend posts under a masculine alias and tells people that she's male. This is for several reasons. One, too many people just skip what she has to say, and instead of giving her post any kind of merit they just post "lol ur no grl," or they request pictures of her with some kind of proof that she is who she says she is. Why would she even care to participate in an online community when this is the attitude she ALWAYS recieves? I'd be extremely annoyed if I had to defend my gender after each and every post.

I seriously doubt she'd go to a convention though lol

That's very unfortunate that your girlfriend has to endure such attitude. Where I come from girls on web forums are (almost) as common as guys, and they are usually treated equally to the guys.

Fascinating. I can easily understand wanting to disguise one's gender on gaming forums, but this is not a game. This is about a very strong molecule that can blow doors and walls to dust . . .This is about inner explorations that can result in unpredictable results. Many of the psychedelic people I have met in the real, incarnate world (i.e. not cyberspace) seem to be unusually truthful, in particular about the heavy stuff like life, relationships, love, sex, religion and death. I am a truthful person who is willing to talk about almost anything, but often I find that this scares people or turns them off. I cannot tell you how many times straight people have responded to what I have had to say with, "Maybe we shouldn't talk about that," or "Maybe we should talk about something different," or a bit more honestly, "I don't feel comfortable discussing that."

Hmmm, interesting. During my first few posts, Swim refered to herself as female when, in fact, I am a 54 year old, happily married father of five children. This was the result of habitual healthy paranoia when discussing entheogens on a public forum.
Since then I have read the various opinions about the use of swimming and decided to drop the act; after all we are all just writing fiction anyway 😉 so why worry.

I wonder, though, is there a difference in the female experience of hyperspace... I remember an experience of meeting the very recently departed (dead) mother of a collegue and the merging of my conciousness with her soul. I experienced a motherly affection for her son (my co-worker) but for the most part still felt masculine. In fact all of my ancestral memory experiences have been as a male, even when I was a prehistoric monkey looking after my troop at night in the trees, alert for danger.

So, if I'm not hijacking this thread, how many males have experienced being female and vice versa, how many females have experienced being male. And does male/female polarity even matter when you leave your monkey body behind and experience Brahma's dreaming.

Welcome! I'm new here as well, but I'm sure that you've already have figured out that this is a great place to discusss many things including this amazing spirit molecule. I agree that it seems that females are underrepresented on online forums, in general. It's great to have your viewpoint, though, and I am sure that you will be able to contribute a wealth of knowledge and experience to this community.

About truthfulness, I have been actively forcing myself to be more honest and open when dealing with other people. Through various psychedelic experiences I was shown that the 7 years that I spent in sales/customer service through high school and college had left me with a fake version of myself that I showed to other people. I also have experience with some of the most "turned on" people I know are brutally honest. I respect that about them and am working towards being as honest as I can be, while still relating to people.

Welcome pandora! Interesting read...PerPLexED seems to be jumping at your ego-loss experience and wants to know some of your Sally experiences(as he has an excessive amount which he looks it almost every night but never ends up doing it due to pre-flight anxiety) And maybe they'll get him in the mood to finally pack it smoke it and drift away.
There's a place for an intro essay, so that trip questions/reports and personal question/reports don't get mixed and all can be answered concisely...
Amazing to hear from someone who's tried dip on a regular basis...got more balls than i could count:shock:
Hope to read more of your reports ^^
