Pulled some base mix with the solent by the look of things.
One method of a mini a/b (acid base) cleanup
1. Warm 50ml of vinegar
2. Add extract to vinegar
3. Stir until dissolved it should go cloudy off white or even clear again.
4. Leave to fully react for half hour
5. Some sediment may be present but sometimes not depending on how impure extract is. So you can either decant away or filter if so, if not then leave it.
6. add base slowly until pH 12, if sodium carb then make a saturated solution before adding it, add slowly
7. add warm solvent and shake well, let separate then mix again 3 or 4 times to saturate solvent. Jar can be kept in a warm water bath if wanted. Shouldnt be any emulsion problems in such a clean solution.
8. pull solvent and separate from jar , leave the last small layer in so no base is pulled.
To get last bit put the whole solution into a tall thin glass. Can also add more solvent to try one last pull if you want.
Number of pulls and amount of solvent used depends on amount of extract. 3 pulls of 30ml warmed naptha should easily pull a gram from the solution. The first may even pull it especially if its toluene, limo or xylene. Probably best to do at least 2.
