so today i started my first extraction 😁
It's just a test run to get to know the process & pick out any flaws/problems i may run into.

So far i've just thrown some grass in the blender with water & chopped until the water turned dark green then strained off into some pickle jars using coffee filters & added vinegar.
This left me with 2 jars full of dark green liquid.

I don't have ph papers so i'm not sure if i used too much or not enough vinegar. (5% white vinegar)
I do want to boil down my green stuff to fit in one jar. i'm not sure if i should just throw it in a pot & simmer down for a while or use a double boiler so the dmt in the solution isn't effected.

im planning on letting the vinegar do it's work for a few days before moving on the defatting step.

You should add the vinegar BEFORE straining the grass... Also you should do more than one boil/wash with the acidic solution instead of straining just once.

As for your other question, you can reduce by boiling on low fire, no problem, DMT in salt form is quite stable at such temperatures.

well this batch got screwed up. nearly 12 pulls with solvent & the color never even changed a little.
Starting from scratch in the next week or so.
would it be possible to use sodium carbonate as my base? & if so would i have to go about it any different than normal? (dissolve it in water before hand or something)
