Long time lurker, first time poster. Let me start things off by saying that I greatly appreciate all the information provided by this forum, and would like to thank the many members that have contributed to this information. I couldn't have gotten this far without you guys. Please excuse me, I know some of these questions have been answered in other threads, but I would like some opinions regarding this unique situation. Now, regarding these "issues". A few days ago, a spice extraction was attempted using the Noman tek. Everything went swimmingly, except instead of freezing all four naptha jars at once, one jar was frozen at a time. The first jar yielded a good amount of white (just barely yellow) crystals. After these were allowed to dry, an ammonia wash was administered. A very thorough one. The amont of ammonia used was waaaayyy too much and ended up dissolving all the crystals. An attempt was made to scrub the jar with some cannabis, and left out to dry. Said cannabis was smoked (2-3 tokes) and produced strange effects, most prominent of which was an overwhelming body high. Not much to say about visuals. These effects lasted maybe 10 minutes. The second jar to be frozen yielded a pretty good amount of crystals, and this time it was decided that the ammonia wash would be skipped. After the crystals had dried, cannabis was loaded into a pipe, a thin layer of spice on top of that, and then some more cannabis. The bowl was snapped and held in as long as possible. Only mild effects were produced. The same body high, but with little to no visuals. The next day, some of the same spice was loaded into a freebase pipe, and was smoked. The hit was very smooth, almost mentholy and smelt quite prominently of melting plastic. Not nearly as harsh as most describe. Again, only mild effects were felt. No visuals, pretty good body high and some mild disorientation. So my questions to you guys are: Is this simply a case of not doing enough? As of yet, there is no mg scale involved, so dosage has been eyeballed. Should all 4 naptha jars be frozen and handled at once? The 3rd jar from the first 50g of mimosa is freezing now, but there is still plenty of fresh mimosa at hand. Is 50g an optimal amount to extract from? Is a wash necessary? If so, what would be the best thing to use in order to wash the crystals, minus a recrystallization? Are there any modifications to the Noman tek you guys have found useful? Is this the best tek to use, or is there one known for particularly higher yields? Again, thank you so much for bearing with me and I look forward to your replies!

First Time Mimosa Extract Issues: Underdose?

When doing an STB tek such as noman's, I combine all pulls and evaporate a good portion(about half) and then freeze. Also keeping the extraction vessel in a heat bath seems to help with yield and i think it aids in the separation of the two layers.
50g of mhrb is definitely a good amount for an extraction. That amount will yield enough to last me at least a year. I usually smoalk about 25mg at a time.
Thanks for the reply! So you combine all naptha pulls into one jar, and let it evapoate? How long do you let it evaporate for, and what purpose does this serve? Also, I ran into a minor problem regarding the separatory funnel. The root bark clogged it up, so is it supposed to be strained into the funnel? A baster has been used since that problem was encountered.

Combining and reducing will result in a more saturated solvent and i think that means more will precip out in the freezer. I sit it by an open window with a fan near it overnight. that seems to be enough time.Destrux said:
I always have used a glass turkey baster. I think a seperatory funnel is more for a/b extractions.
Cool! If I wanted to leave the jar outside, would a cheesecloth or even coffee filter be enough to prevent the naptha from evaporating properly? I just don't want anything to fall in, and I don't have a good place to put it indoors. So after you yield your crystals, do you recrystallize with heptane?
I do re-x with heptane, and it works very well. If i were you i would just make sure you have really cold freezer and skip the reducing step. I would not want to leave it outside just in case something were to happen to it. I honestly don't know if the coffee filter or cheese cloth would affect the evaporation.
Thank you so much for this advice, I really appreciate it. One more thing, if you will. How many times do you usually perform the naptha pull? The Noman tek recommends 4 pulls, leaving the last in the mixing jar for a couple days. Is this adequate, or can additional pulls be made?
I run my black liquid through a büchner funnel to separate particles prior to using a separatory funnel.

I had a good rate of mis-fires using enhanced leaf. What I find works out the best for me is sandwiching between ash with 3 pipe screens at the bottom. This worked good with a glass gandalf, I'd just keep tokin until my world started to change. I use a steamroller pipe now and 19/20 trips break through.
I simply fill my lungs until they're full and clear the carb, lay back, close my eyes. You might also like ambient music; drums work the best for me.

Alright, update on this entire sitch. Today, the crystals from the 3'rd jar were filtered and dried. In an attempt to transfer them to another container, the most depressing thing happened. All the crystals. ALL of them (from the previous pulls as well) got hopelessly spilled on the carpet. 
In a desperate crack-addict attempt to salvage the crystals, they were carefully picked from amongst the dreadful shag carpeting and loaded into a freebase pipe. These were then smoked. Holy shit! Intense body high, crazy visuals, shpongle in the background, etc. However, the veil was not broken. I did not transcend my own consciousness. I am aware this dose was insufficient to blast off, but at least I'm getting some results. Like I said, a mg scale is yet to be involved. More care will be taken in future extracts to not spill all the effing crystals everywhere.

A couple of the naptha jars that had been used previously were left by a window with a screen and some airflow to fully evaporate, as there was still some naptha leftover. Anyway, come back later that night and there's this big white patch on the screen. Closer inspection revealed these to be crystals!!! So the conclusion I've come up with is that some spice, or whatever else, got trapped in the evaping naptha, and stuck to the screen. Don't have any pictures though, as it was promptly scraped off by an oblivious someone. 8)
