First time user and extractor with questions

Hey! My friend was asking me if he properly made dmt right. He said he followed instructions properly with naptha and lye, letting freeze overnight, etc. he only extracted a bit as some spilled. He was also wondering if the attached picture is good enough to try for a small first time hit.
Should he mix it in with a joint or should he try and smoke it out of a vaporizer?
The amount he is trying is very small, maybe half the size of a thumb nail.

Your friend needs a scale capable of weighing milligrams, as "eyeballing" a dose is never accurate. There are plenty of affordable options if one looks around. Good luck!
