Hi I have a question I tried to make n,n-dmt but the last step isn't right the crystals melt when I try to thaw them! What do I do please? Thank u

Hi evie123,

welcome to the nexus :)

please provide more details for others to be able to help you (materials and quantities used? tek? how did you do the pulls? freeze precip? how did they look like before drying? how are you drying them? what do they look like after melting? any abnormal colors? does it smell like dmt?....)

I used mimosa 50 grams I froze 3 times before using the mimosa thawing and then freezing the mimosa powder. I put that to the side and measured out 750ML of distilled H2O then I added 50 grams of lye to the H2O a little at a time for 40 mins and stirring everytime I added the lye. Then I added my mimosa powder to this liquid lye and stirred and then let sit for an hour then I added Naptha just a layer IDK how much and then I let sit after I stirred it into the black mimosa liquid I covered it with plastic around the jar and a rubber band put it into a pan of hot H2O for 24 hours after every 3 hours stirring the black mimosa liquid and changing the pan water to hot. Then I used a pipette to take out the Naptha and put that in the freezer for 24 hours when I took it out of the freezer it melted and turned back into liquid but I poured out the naptha before the crystals melted into liquid WHAT DID I DO WRONG? and THANK YOU B4 hand and PLEASE 2

Can you provide a link to the tek you are following, please.
You only freeze the mimosa powder if you have rehydrated it, probably in the acid phase of an acid/base extraction, and it will freeze as part of a blg block of ice, the idea being the hydrated cells will rupture, releasing more of the precious spice. To be honest, this seems an awful lot of effort, time and energy, for marginal, at best, gains. I have stopped doing it myself.
Sounds like you basically did a straight to base, with super cold powdered bark. You could have given your bark and lye longer, and with more(careful) mixing, before adding the solvent.
Did you take a picture of the crystals before they dissolved? How was the yield? Roughly how much solvent did you use? Am I right in thinking you only did this solvent 'pull' one time?

since your main problem is in drying you should elaborate more on that step. the typical way of doing it is as soon as you drain the naphtha you should lay the plate almost vertical against a support and put a strong fan on it and leave it for at least 30 mins before you check if the naphtha smell is gone.
melting crystals are often ice crystals, you have to make sure there's no water in your naphtha before freeze precipitation. when dmt crystals melt, they turn into goo which is perfectly usable and virtually identical to dmt crystals, if goo is what you got you shouldn't worry about it, make changa or enhanced leaf to make handling it easier.
and yes as EmeraldAtomiser said, you need to hydrate the bark powder for freeze/thaw cycles to work at all.
