I was just wondering if it's worth using food grade or medical grade raw materials for our extraction teks. I know that food or medical grade products are produced to a higher standard or have to meet higher standards, certainly in Europe. But does it really matter for our work.

I was looking at two identical products produced by the same company. The food grade one was obviously more expensive but the ingredient list was identical. I spoke to the supplier and he just said that if the product was going to be used in the production of any food then the regulations state that food grade products must be used.
This was for an acid and the solvent is a medical grade solvent.
Any thoughts?
