What happened here then?
They were asked to make their posts more clear, provide context, and make sure that they were relevant to the thread, and this was the reaction. Anyways, it's always good when people signal unambiguously whether they are participating in good faith here or not.

Imo OP's reaction is bizarre for someone into psychedelics
That's the thing - he's not into psychedelics, psychedelics are in him. But taking the medicine is, as we all well know, often not enough. For some people the medicine works in the other way, because perhaps one has to hit rock bottom before they're ready to heal and become better.

I hope someday psychologists get interested in that phenomenon and research it further. Like some drug users create a story that makes them blind even to an awakening experience. They create a psychedelic identity, instead of using these substances to get closer to what's real. Anything can get misused, and I think former conditioning (say, alcohol use) plays a big role here. Some just want the thrill and don't want to look at themselves. Honestly, they tend to never go all in, and even if they do, they hide from it.
It's a recipe for disaster, and sooner or later, life will catch up. It's not about drugs really, but some more fundamental laws of this reality (karma).

I was actually referring to the shrooms in his profile picture! Psilocybin has made me a better person for sure!!

Thank you. (y)

After reading their reply in the Blue Lotus thread, I was initially confused, read it again (and some of their other posts), then decided it was nothing more than armchair chemist doggerel wrapped inside a word-salad sandwich. Rather than engage further (and say something ungentlemanly), I decided to wait and see if others felt the same.

Mushrooms are wonderful medicine, but history has shown time and again that they really open the door to losing one's shit, particularly if one is predisposed to that condition, which OP seems to very much have been. One need not look past the history of Terence McKenna and how mushrooms impacted his life to see an example of that. I love the dude, but in some respects he was proper nuts.
