Can "white gasoline" which has no colorant be used in place of naptha?

It's much cheaper.
Ronson lighter fuel is sold around $5 per /138 ml where SWIM lives.
"White gasoline" is about $23 per 4L (Coleman white gasoline).

Or is there anything wrong in gasoline like solubility of lipids, alkaloids etc....

help me pleaaase !

I dont know about the exact product you are looking at but... I would personally be very careful with any kind of fuel, because they many times do not specify everything they contain (like possibly rust inhibitors or other even more nasty stuff), as they are not meant to be consumed :p

search for msds of the specific product you find, see if there is more info on it on the internet, exactly what it contains, how pure, etc..

and if you do decide to use it, its not a fool proof test but helps a bit, to make an evap test.. just put some in a plate and let it evap, see if it leaves any residue.

good luck

SWIY probably shouldn't even be using lighter fuel to begin with. Most use VM&P Naphtha, and camp fuel may even be a better alternative--SWIM's not sure, though. SWIY'd be even better off using small amounts of warm bestine and freeze-precipping. SWIY should really look into alternatives like limonene before using untested and questionable solvents; he probably won't be able to get it locally, but it's a worthy investment if he's serious about extraction.

White gas is naptha. Ronsonol is fine to use, it's what I use, evap.'s clean and I've never had a problem with it. I've heard of all kinds of problems using Coleman's fuel. It contains rust inhibitors, and is known to turn your end product blue, which can't be good!

Ah, SWIM had read some things about ronsonol's that didn't sound so great, but he can't recall what or where. He had heard of camp fuel being used in similar such processes, but wasn't sure of the implications. And actually, the camp fuel he was thinking of was called white gas (referring to it as white gasoline threw him off), but he's not sure of the brand.
