..to bring the perspective back to the title of the thread..and comment on hixidom's angle,
to which there is no fault to the logic, but there are philosophical questions which arise from the language which may have implications..

When storing these coordinates, it makes no difference whether I express these coordinates as 8 3-vectors or simply as a sequence of 24 numbers:
(0,0,0,1,0,0,0,1,0,0,0,1,1,1,0,1,0,1,0,1,1,1,1,1)

When analyzing this data, I can choose to parse this sequence (i.e. chop it up) in such a way that original 8 3-vectors are obtained, but why should I do that? From an objective standpoint, this data is no more 3D than it is 1D. Maybe it represents a cube, or maybe it represents a point in 24-dimensional space. The idea of dimensionality is meaningless when geometrical shapes are formatted in this way.

..this suggests the 'meaning', and the 'dimensions' are an action of consciousness..pattern cognition..the n dimensions may not exist in the 'numbers', but exist in the consciousness..where do the numbers exist?
similarly logic exists only in consciousness...no?

The cold logic of numbers is the essence of reality.

what are numbers? symbols of q-bits of information? but where is this information 'stored'?
storage requires 'space', which must also be 'reality'..
or if the numbers are generated continuously and spontaneously, not stored, this requires 'time', which is consequential to space..
the numbers may exist in the same thing that generates meaning (dimensionality) ..consciousness..

i like how non-material the concept of numbers is..but essentially i wanted to bridge this subject and the OP Pythagoras quote..
explorer7..as for why these geometries appear in expanded states, i will abstain from speculation, but pattern cognition given meaning as dimensions is required by consciousness in order to design..
numbers without given meaning result in no dimensions..the string of numbers have logical meaning..
some have suggested that language is the building blocks of our reality..geometry is a language..what speaks and who understands or recognises?
