Good, solid recipe?

Migrated topic.

I've peeked through these threads a bit and haven't quite found anything sufficient yet, so my apologies in advance if this has been thoroughly covered and I've simply not come across it.

Recently, I made some enhanced leaf using a native american smoking blend, and it is awesome for what it is. However, I am definitely looking to experiment with some good recipes. I've been reading about caapi use in changa amongst other things. My question about caapi is -- do you use the root or leaf material in making a changa preparation?

Essentially, I'm looking to make change that incorporates some degree of MAOI to enhance and/or deepen the experience, and I'm definitely interested in including other herbs that can enrich the experience. I basically want a great go-to recipe for changa.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

(also, any recommendation on good vendors for this purpose is very welcome)

This is my favorite:

Caapi leaf, mullein make up the majority of the mix
lavender is then added proportionally, you dont want a lot, but you want to add more then you do the white sage.

caapi leaf gets 50%, mullein gets 30% lavender gets 15% white sage gets 5% or something like that...I never weigh, personally I just mix and improvise and it always turns out supreme

For vendors please see the suppliers section of our forum.

You really can't go wrong with this mix. It is perfect IMHO. Call it the House Special.

Nice! That sounds excellent, thank you.

I started my journeys snadwiching spice between layers of white sage, so it'll be cool to incorporate it in the mix.

Caapi leaf is one of the most popular additives...

Shredded pieces of Caapi vine is also popular, especially in Australia. Although it can be a bit harsh.

Adding an expectorant (lung cleaner) such as Mullein or Coltsfoot is recommended to make a SMOOTH smoke. Mullein is sometimes not available and Coltsfoot is VERY similar in its texture & effect.

My favorite every-day Changa blend is:

1/3 Mullein or Coltsfoot
1/3 Caapi Leaf
1/3 Lavender

This makes a GREAT blend that combines the classic element of Caapi leaf with the smooth effects of the Mullein\Coltsfoot and the wonderful healing essence and flavor of lavender.

Good luck! 8)

Edit: HOUSE! **shakes fist** looks like we like the same blend :)

Well, thank you guys for the recipes. I'm looking forward to experimenting with them soon. What ratio of spice to plant product do you guys favor? My first changa batch is a 1:1 ratio, which is potent, but I'm not sure what would be most favorable when combining these other elements. Suggestions?

Also, House -- I just read that Visual Diagram in your signature. Excellent work, man. That will undoubtedly have an impact on my future sessions with the spice. I particularly like that you emphasized meditation practice into the experience.

Yes...IMO meditation and DMT go hand in hand. I am glad you found the diagram valuable.

The preferred ratio is 1:1 and I even like to sprinkle more crystals on top of this to give it a nice frosted trichrome look and extra potency. ;)

I find blue lotus in small quantities (about 15% - 20% of the herbal blend, not counting the spice) adds a delicious blueberry-like taste to the mix as well. It's an amazing feeling to exhale the vapor through your nose and taste the deliciousness as your world starts to melt into a beautiful lake of oblivion!

As already mentioned, mullein and caapi are amazing! The blend I just finished and will soon be trying to replicate was the following:

- 50% 10x caapi leaf
- 30% mullein
- 20% Blue lotus flower
- Same weight in crystal white spice

Peace and Happy journeys! :d

Heh, House doesn't play around! That's pretty intense, man.

But yeah, I've had some extremely valuable experiences on DMT just sitting half lotus, breathing, and "moving energy" along the subtle body. It's cool because I'll discover special nuances about these practices while I'm in hyperspace, and even cooler, I can bring those tricks back with me ;)

@entheogenadvocate:

I've been seeing Blue Lotus come up as well. I've looked into it a bit, is it technically mildly psychoactive? According to Erowid, it has some sedative effects. I definitely don't mind, but would like to know what I'm getting myself into :D

Electric Sheep - 50/50 Blue Lotus and Calea and Blue Lotus by itself, both with a significant amount of extracted harmalas, are SWIM's favorite blends.
10x Caapi leaf and Pau D'arco Blend is also awesome.

All 1:1.

Alright guys, I ordered some caapi leaf. I've read that your best bet with changa is to make a 10x concentrated caapi leaf, is this what you guys do? The instructions I read indicated to use IPA or Everclear with a substantial quantity of caapi, but can Acetone be used? I recently purchased some for another preparation and I'd rather use what I have if possible.

I asked the same question not long ago. Acetone is no no. 30 days in IPA is the way to go. Mines are already 16 days in IPA :)
The menstrum is amazing. I looked at it today and its green in shade and red in the sun. Really cool :)

Yeah that green in the shade and red in the sun thing is just amazing!

Thanks for the input Dorge :D BTW, it's interesting that the menstruum has that quality to it. There is a parallel in that to alchemical processes that render green and red stages of development, which I'm sure I will enjoy seeing.

Dorge, one more question about this: When we talk about IPA, are you referring to pure IPA? Or just rubbing alcohol? I'm assuming pure would be preferable, but I have no idea how to obtain that.

Ask one of your local stores (those hardware stores you know) if they can order some in for you if you can't find it. Shouldn't be a problem, not here anyway.

actually acetone works somewhat if it´s your only choice, just heat it and soak it 3-4times in fresh solvent and don´t throw away any leaves after.
