I am attempting the non-toxic extraction of cactus using d-limo and hydrated lime

Right now I have a "warm milkshake" consistency liquid. I used a strainer to filter out the solids as best as possible but it seems there is an emulsion of some sort with the limonene and cactus/lime/water.

Is this salvageable as-is? can I add water to dilute and filter through coffee filter?

If not, can I further basify the solution with NaOH and extract the alkaloids with naptha?

After that for the acid wash, would I have to find a stronger acid than 5% acetic acid?

Any pointers are helpful!

I'm by no means an expert but I had a similar thing happen to me this week, except I used lye as a base.
I ended up makeing a little bit of higly concentrated lye and water and added it to my gel locked bottle then shook it up, and it started seperating pretty nicely, still a tiny emulsion layer (probably lipids from when the pH dipped too low- the xylene/solvent then is basicaly a defat, as far as I think), but 95 of the xylene gets through it pretty fast. As opposed to doing nothing for two days before I base bombed it.

Maybe one of the clever people can say if it will suit your solvent etc...

I should be able to basify the solution with a bunch of NaOH and then add xylene. I could then continue with muriatic acid like in conventional teks.

Anyone have comments?

mesc is insoluble in naptha - use the xyelene.
add a bit more water and more lye.
use 4 drops of 33% hcl in 100ml water to salt.
