Sounds like hype. Mimosa hostilis is mimiosa hostilis, regardless of what country it grew in.

That pic looks like ever other MHRB out there, actually looks not-so-purple so it's probably just like the one that comes from Brazil.

I think it's just a marketing ploy.

Dude, im telling you, it does not matter what country it is from, there will be quality batches & poor quality batches just like brazillian or mexican. The plant is either mimosa hostilis, or it is not mimosa hostilis. Different species of mimosa? Sure. But it is not marijuana, there is no "strain" with mimosa hostilis as far as i am aware.

To be real this almost seems like a slick attempt at marketing here.

Yup, but that's trunk bark which has barely any DMT on it.

Yeah I´ll worry more about how old the sourcing tree really is. Older trees seems to yield more goodies than younger trees.
Also very a important aspect of the process is the method used to dry the bark. I´ve heard sometimes they actually dry it using fire to speed up the process with the following decrease in alk content if overheated. Please correct me if I´m wrong this is based upon anecdotal info.
If this is true I wonder how often the "inert" or low yielding barks where dried over a campfire.

Has anyone here ever extracted spice with Guatemalan Inner Root Bark MHRB ?

Ive heard round the net Guatemalan is a new strain of mimosa .

What makes this different from brazil or mexican mimosa ?

Older trees seems to yield more goodies than younger trees.

Don't know but i have an anecdotal evidence (thread) : i extracted a 2 years old specimen and got 1.7% yield which seems not too bad for a baby.
Of course, i don't know if the yield would be (much) better or not with an older specimen with the same genetic.

Just my 2 cents.

From what ive been reading is that Mimosa tend to come from caatingas or desert like areas, with horrible nutrient content.

its very possible this particular "strand" may have grown in a more green area with lots of fertile land .

As more info is built lets keep updating it . ty all for the posts. i would answer some others posts on this but im just as new to this mimosa as anyone else.

You probably will not get a real answer because it is speculation & the testing that would be required to really say rootbark grown in x country yeilds higher than y country would need to be extensive & not only that, but proof the rootbark actually came from the country it was labelled as would be needed as well.

I think really if this "guatamalan" rootbark is popularized, we will see the same as mexican or brazillian, yeilds will be all over the place if many people use it & are surveyed, the alkaloids in the plant will likely be exactly the same.

I would love to see that type of testing done & be proved wrong, however, there are far too many variables in the growing conditions alone to say spike in yeild from guatamalan sample A over B was due to it being grown in guatamala rather than the soil conditions, lighting that day, time of harvest, current weather conditions during harvest, etc.

Now if that isnt difficult enough, how can we be certain in testing that specific conditions & timing known to produce high alkaloid content was not intentionally setup by a large farm or commercial farmer just for the harvest of a sample to be tested & boost sales for rootbark from a specific region on false pretenses?
