handling lsd...

otay...so...

i always hear people talking about "don't touch the sheet with your bare hands". people advising other people to like wear gloves or tweezers to split the sheet up (even if it's perforated). i don't understand this? i've torn hundreds of sheets apart with my bare hands over the years and never once have i been dosed or started accidentally trippin. i was under the influence that the under side of our hands (palms and fingers) didn't have any pores. without pores, i don't see how lsd can get absorbed into the body??? i've handled lots of dosed sugar cubes bare handed also. never accidentally tripped.

so am i the only one who's heard this advice? and am i the only one who handles sheets barehanded and not tripped from it? i've heard this talk from sooo many people. i just always thought it was one of the common druggie lies. you know, EVERYONE knows this guy who's shot out from acid and thinks he's a glass of orange juice and will freak out if you push him over cuz he thinks you spilled him. is it one of those things? one part truth, a million parts fiction, regurgitated by everyone who's heard it? maybe there is a guy who think's he's a glass of OJ out there but i doubt tht all these people, from all these states actually know him. there's a bunch of other common drug user lies i've heard. so like did one dude back in the day accidentally dose himself somehow breaking up sheets and now that's "happened" to everyone. or is this my cynicism oozing out?

ahhh...thanks benz.

never had it explained that way to me. everyone's always said that they handled a sheet barehand one time and tripped balls or know someone who has. degradation makes sense.
 
Benzyme pretty summed up the reason not to finger the LSD blotter all up. Handling it can damage the LSD. But I have stuck my fingers in plenty of LSD dissolved in alcohol. It does absorb a fair bit, but it takes a lot longer to absorb in your hands, and it takes a lot more to get really high. I have laid grams or multiple tenths of a gram bare handed, and it takes a lot longer to start really tripping and peaking. I do not wash my hands either, but the trip is not usually overwhelming. It can be kind of a strong dose, but not like getting even 2-3 mgs in your mouth. If laying multiple grams at a time, wearing gloves isn't a bad idea, unless you have a real strong tolerance.

If you do this, be very careful what you touch afterward. Washing your hands can prevent people from getting too spun by accident! A friend who had laid multiple grams barehanded, went and had sex with his girl after. She ended up getting incredibly high. Probably higher than she had ever been, by accident!

I was told once that LSD was sweated it out quite quickly- and so this guy dosed in bed with his gf who didn't take any, and she woke up tripping from him sweating it out. Fact or fiction, or something behind it like with the gloves or tweezers deal?
 
Sounds like bogus. But the thing is, its impossible to say really. Maybe she had an abnormally low tolerance. Maybe he had an abnormally high one. Maybe both :? Maybe a substition reaction takes place and an even more potent form is created after it gets sweated out? Doubtful, but we'll never really know.

I could see the first one being more likely, especially if he directly touched a...particularly absorbent area.
