This is kind of mind-blowing that this came out recently.

Translation of the article: When people get hip replacements, often made of titanium, the titanium breaks down into little metal particles that sometimes irritate and degrade the surrounding bone.

It's amazing what harmine is capable of. So many healing powers.

But what's mind-blowing to me is that about 4-7 years before the study came out, I was experiencing this first-hand. I had two hip replacements, and they were starting to bother me. Every once in a while, they felt out-of-alignment, they hurt, and interfered with my mobility.

I soon found that drinking ayahuasca vine or Syrian Rue, with or without a DMT-containing admixture plant, would alleviate all my symptoms surrounding my artificial hip(s).
Every time the symptoms came up, I would do this. At first it was about once a week, but over time I needed to this less and less, until it would take several months to a year for symptoms to really return, and they barely did when they did. It appears that drinking harmine-containing plant tea directly cured my joint replacement pain and looseness/misalignment.

I was thinking it would be decades before this effect of harmine was recognized by the scientific community. It seemed like a fringe side-benefit.

But no! Some Chinese scientists got on it, somehow! I wonder what clued them in.

Now there's a title and a half for a science paper! (Looks like it runs over the maximum character count for a thread title, too.)

The findings themselves are pretty amazing. They somewhat reflect my own personal usage of rue seeds for oral health and control of deossification following incompetent dental treatment.

It's great to hear that harmala brews have been of such direct benefit to you too, @RhythmSpring 🤗

Very cool study! I'm glad to see work like this is happening

Can you elaborate a bit on how they were used to help oral health? So long as it doesn't dredge up bad memories of course, I know dental issues are a pain!

It seems that NOT consuming harmalas is quite detrimental for the health.
Will it be the next big trend for health influencers on the internet?
Time to stock up maybe.
I already did ;)

I lost a wisdom tooth to gingivitis and periodontitis following a particularly brutal scale and polish, coupled with a poorly-dimensioned crown which caused crowding that exacerbated inflammation in the manner of a domino-effect. This was back in the early c*r*na panicdemic, meaning I was also forced to use some kind of brutal antiseptic mouthwash, causing severe disruption to my oral microbiota ecosystem and thereby making things worse.

This is the basis of my daily rue quidding practice, and my new dentist now compliments my oral health.

The other aspect of this is the frankly horrifying way in which a site of perodontitic osteolysis acts as a seat for ongoing inflammation; Syrian rue helps an immense amount in keeping this in check, along with my custom-designed tea blend of 20 herbs, and a handful of other supplements - but that's rather getting beyond the scope of this thread. Suffice to say, omitting any part of this regime tends to lead to increased inflammation.

I also had a bad experience with mouth wash. It instantly clogged my saliva ducts and my face blew up quite quickly.

Sorry for all the questions but I'm curious what amount you quid? I'd like to try now that I know it doesn't involve gargling reduced rue tea

Sorry for derailing the thread but hey maybe one of the researchers will see the discussion and run a study on a rue based mouthwash next

My daily amount is "a pinch" at bedtime. iirc, this equates to about 800mg. Sublingual to soften up a bit, then transfered to my cheek where it stays overnight - unless I fall asleep first. I haven't choked on any seeds yet. For all I know, they might be sprouting in my lungs, though

It's quite nice to have some softened rue seeds ready to suck on when I wake up - and it fits in with a bit of meditation too. Incidentally, the softened seeds that I've picked out from between my teeth have generally germinated quite easily!

I also have found that Syrian Rue improves my oral health. I at least notice that my teeth feel/are stronger the morning after an evening in which I drank Syrian Rue.
