Help, someone help me answer some extraction questions?

I have a question about what Chris contelmo's extraction method where he freezes the bark first and doesn't need vinegar, well tray I pulled out of the freezer (after about 18 hours) with all the crystals in it, I poured off the Napa and turn the trays over to dry but then the crystals just disappeared.
It is very humid here and I was wondering if because it is so humid the crystals dissolved in the water, as the water evaporated?

Sounds like Chris Cantelmo (whoever that is) is claiming (presumably) a bog-standard STB as his own 'tek', but in absence of any clarification of what CC's method actually comprises of that's purely a guess.

They may have been ice crystals in the first place - but did you also return the tray(s) to the freezer while they were draining? You'll need to do something like that if it's hot and humid. Trays aren't really the best freeze precip containers in those conditions - straight-sided preserving jars will likely be more convenient.

(Sorry I was using voice to text and forgot to go back and fix the name) but yes that is the right person, I seen the video on youtube though.
But yes I do the stb hybrid salt tek and use 8x8 glass cake dishes to freeze in.
The caustic solution didn't seem like it broke down the bark enough and the Naphtha at the top was white this time instead of a slightly yellow tint,
(I hope I didn't mess it up but I went back and added vinegar to hopefully break it down more, then I have to go back and add extra sodium hydroxide water to bring the pH back up).

I put the tray back in the freezer but the crystals did not come back, but the crystals (I just thought they were crystals because of the structure) were big and white but did not have a yellow tint like other extractions, so I did something wrong.

Actually just googling it I realized that it was a Nexus wiki page I got from Reddit back in 2021 or 2022, (I'll share the link if needed, and any other information I can).
 
Yeah I just found this nexus sight I think last night but from the wiki page, I scrolled down and it was talking about salt and ((salt) was highlighted in yellow) and I tapped on it and it took me to the old nexus and that's how I found this site which I am so glad it happened and wish I found sooner.
But anyway, no it's different bark and method, I get 4 bags of 50g (that's what the tek calls for)
The first bag I did by the wiki and the second two bags I froze and thawed 3x, added salt, then upped the pH with a little sodium hydroxide at a time so it won't overheat, put naphtha in it and waited about 3 hours, warmed it up and got the clear naphtha off the top, and that didn't seem to work as well so then I went back and added vinegar (to hopefully break the bark down more) and sodium hydroxide, and hope that works and not screw it up further lol.
But I have 1 more 50g bag and I'm going back to the nexus wiki and doing it that way to see if it's better or if it's just too humid right now, and might need to wait till it gets closer to the end of the year when it's cold and dry.
 
Hm, vinegar is just to help bring the DMT into solution (especially if you're not using heat with it). If anything's going to break down the bark, it's the NaOH. I wouldn't worry about that getting too warm, it'll help digest the bark even more (just make sure you're using PPE and are stone cold sober).

Indications are presently leaning in the direction of bunk bark, in which case it's time to start growing some plants for sustainability's sake.

Did any of the three bags work?

Yeah the first bag worked, I used the STB hybrid salt tek.
But I thought the vinegar was to break the bark down and the NaOH was to up the pH to kick the DMT out because the DMT likes to be in a lower pH and stays in the nap? It's what Chris cantelmo explained.
Does bunk bar mean I ruined it or the DMT is depleted from the black solution?

And yes I am very careful with the process I know NaOH is extremely dangerous and that nap is dangerous around any heat, burning my house down to feed the purpose of purifying🤣, I sit and watch it pretty much the whole time.

But is the salt not necessary, I thought it was to help not get the fatty acids from the plant and not get it in the nap, I thought that because there was this wet paper looking stuff after I got it out of the freezer and it kind of cake together.
I hope that's not confusing.

Bunk as in weak, ineffective, dud, third-rate, etc.

But if you got one good result, that might not be the issue - assuming all the bags are the same, which they may or may not be.

The main thing is - not to throw anything away until you're sure you've got the goods!

Yeah I'm going to do as many pulls as I can until it's depleted, but the first time I did it the bag was from Brazil and I got 1.2g, this time the bag was from Mexico (I didn't order them) and I only got like 280mg (significantly less) both 50g bags

After I added the vinegar and more NaOH the Napster is now getting yellowy (it's a good sign to me anyone) I'm tired rn I've been working on this for 2 days and a little this morning, so in the morning I'll do a pull or two then the next day I'll check em at night.

But I'll pull until it's depleted, it's just my really big problem is that I don't have a good way to pull the Nap off the top, the turkey baster I got is too wide at the mouth and it just falls back out, I got a syringe and it worked fine the first time I sucked up the Nap and the second time it's like the rubber swole and the syringe will not work again to suck it up, so I take the jar and slowly pour it into a measuring cup then slowly pour that into the dish to make sure all caustic solution is Left behind.

Yeah that's the wiki I've been using.
I was googling most of it.
I've done the extraction that way two times now and it's very simple, I just didn't know what ATB stood for, I guess acid to base, instead of straight to base (STB).
Actually I got that wiki page from Reddit a few years ago and that's how I found the old nexus site and it led me to this new nexus site yesterday.
It's pretty much what Chris Cantelmo was doing.
I'm not sure of other methods to purify but this one I'm familiar with.
