🍄I’m embarking on the 1up fungus game again. Last time I fought the elements, and I couldn’t keep my heat or humidity right. Everything seemed good until fruiting.

This time I purchased a grow kit, with a humidifier and heat pad, positive pressure air filtration system, and timed lights. Supposedly a sorta set-it-and-forget-it set up. I have B+ and golden teacher spores to work with. Very excited. Hopefully in a couple months I’ll be growing and shrinking, and hopping down drain pipes!

Man none of that stuff is necessary, and usually causes more contamination than mushrooms. When you’re done with this PM me and I can help you. Save some spores for future use.

Just a thought... If fruiting is where you are running into problems, check out bancopumas myceliated grain tek. No fruiting. If you can get the jars to colonize you're good to go.

2 week update. Beautiful rhizo growth. I just love how it stretches out. These are GT’s. I’ll update in a few weeks again.

Edit: Sorry the photos are sideways.

Thanks SK. I’m feeling pretty good about these. Having control of the elements so far seems to help. I feel like I was 3 or 4 weeks into it the first time I tried before they looked like this. Those were “incubated” in a shoe box in a cupboard at probably 70 with plenty of dips below that. I’ve been able to incubate these at a consistent 82, and the progress has been fast.

Look at my pin! The jar still has a week to fully colonize but this guy didn’t wanna wait.

How’s that jar doing?

Sometimes early pins can be a sign of contamination too.

I had a nice morning, first harvest in 3+ years

It’s getting big. It’s probly 1 1/2 inches maybe. I think I left it near to much light which may have triggered it. Other jars are starting to pin as well. I feel I have maybe a week left before I can birth them, as the bottoms aren’t covered yet and it’s not pulling from the glass yet.

What did you harvest SK?

Pic below is the same guy from the pic above. 3 days later.

Tried to upload a pic but the .jpeg format isn’t supported it seems. Got 265g wet off a small shoebox grow, PE6.

PE6 is a reverted strain that is basically a normal cube, it was accidentally sent to a vendor by a guy that does strain crossing work and distributed widely. It’s slow like PE unfortunately! At least my experience thus far.

So I’m starting to get a little anxious as it seems the mycelium stopped progressing and everything is starting to fruit. There is still parts of sunbstrate visible and not colonized. Could use some advice or reassurance. Attached are pics. You can see that there is a portion of all the jars on the bottom where the mycelium just seems to have stopped.

probably just need to damage control from there, birth it then pull off the mushies and knock off any loose uncolonized matter then H2O dunk and roll in verm then put in fruiting conditions. If you want to be extra careful some choose to sterilize a blade and make a clean cut to remove the uncolonized part, but I don’t think it matters really.

Did your other jars finish properly?

No all 5 jars have at least a small portion of substrate still visible. I wasn’t sure if because the outside wasn’t finished that the interior of the cakes would still be loosey goosey. Have you had this issue before? I thinks it’s because I may not have kept them dark enough, so they triggered early.

So birthing went well. The cakes were more solid than I thought they would have been. Picked off the babies and the cakes are soaking now. Thanks synisterkid, trav, dreadedshaman, and anyone else who replied to my thread or questions in chat. I’m feeling good about this.

Now another question...
I pulled 14 grams of these baby shrooms off before dunking. Is there any value to these? I know it would be a low dose if anything, but would these little guys have any psilo in them?
