Hotplate questions

[Smoker root]

Hi, I paln on doing a soxhlet extraction of Khat leaves and I olan on using a flamabel solvent, ethanol. My hotplate/mag. stirrer broke(I don't yet know what happened) and for so I need to use another heating source. I have two main options, a crockpot and a camping stove, this one:

I think a crockpot is a bad option, you have to replenish water constantly, heat control is horrible but it looks like being the safest option. However it would be incredible if that hotplate was anti-sparkles
