If its just water then your going to be left with dampish herb material i suppose. I got 99.7% stuff from an electronics store as its used for cleaning off old heat transfer goop off cpu's etc.. It was actually cheaper than from the chemist also
I don't see why... just leave it out long enough and the water will evaporate too. I know people use everclear and thats 95% ethanol, so I doubt a 4% difference makes that much difference. when all of the visible liquid is done you could just spread out the herb material on a plate or baking dish and it will dry pretty quickly. theres only a few ml of water in it anyway. oh well, either way I did it already, so we'll see what happens. about .9g of some old deems I had lying around in the freezer and .9g of spearmint leaf. used 40ml of the 91% IPA.
No.. but it's definitely a thought I've had both caapi and passionflower leaf enhanced with dmt but a rue extract would be interesting all i'd suggest if you're trying this 70% stuff is pour 30mL into a glass and see how well it evaporates before mixing it with the leaf obviously don't use heat to evaporate the water because you'll just lose your spice too i believe acetone will work fine too, but i haven't tried it it evaporates off quicker too Recochem 1L acetone tin from KMart is cheap and 98% (and clean)
[quote:bda661cf49="Coschi"]how come? i haven't tried acetone i've just heard it works well and evaporates quicker than iso..[/quote:bda661cf49] I can tell you for a fact that IPA works very well. and I used 91% drug store IPA not 99%. it got it all into the leaf and dried completely (took a couple days). the leaf is totally dry, not even oily, and weighs almost exactly the original weight of the spice + leaf. 5% loss at most.
