I think it is better to say it however you like but as you are holding your spice mix hit in and blow it out and say the ahhhhhhhh as you drift in to hyperspace...

europeans can't prounounce the silent g, so it early on it became chan-Gah for the brits and euros.

in australia, cultured australians don't like the articulated A, because it sounds very colloquial, so they started going "chungah". some still say this, but it sounds dumb to me.

but like changi airport is pronounced chang-ee. changa was first spoken about as chang-ah.
(the same way as the word "changa" is pronounced in the changa chunga cartoon)

but different people in different parts of the world pronounce it differently.

hear some guy recently pronounce it janga, which sounded kind of cool.
