How many people can make music here?

Migrated topic.

Although I am not good at music making at all, this thread made me remember an old friend who was really into it... He lived alone in a 20 m2 apartment with his computer, and made music all day. It was his only obsession and love. Nowadays he's traveling the world, playing at festivals under the name "Chemical Sp00n".

I've put up some of his early work on the web because I think they are worth sharing. The mastering and song structure is kind of crap compared to what he's doing nowadays, but the tracks still carry that certain über-psychedelic vibe that I very much appreciate in trance music.

Here they are:

I LOVE CHEMICAL SP00N!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me also :)

Ha. Thanks for kind words.

How about some kind of collaboration where someone offers up a basic track. Say a beat and bassline.
Then take it in turns to add a track to it each.

Then we all download each others individual tracks and can each arrange and mix our own versions and see what we end up with.

Or maybe im just getting carried away...

I'm up for this. Maybe I'll get to use some of that stuff that I always throw away because it's fun to make but doesn't suite the style of my music at the moment.

But yeah! :)

How would we go about adding something to it? I'm using reason 4? ..I can only use it if it's saved as a wav file.

Come on, someone with a bit of experience start us off! Let's be really experimental with this, doesn't have to be ought serious. This could be really fun!

it shouldn't matter what program you use.

if you export individual tracks as .wav files they can be used on anything. need somewhere decent to host them. as it's only for a little experiment we could use high bit rate .mp3's instead (export as wav, convert to mp3).

but yes, someone needs to start the ball rolling on this!!
