During alot of teks that I read I can never find an accurate measurement on what % their starting vinegar is or how much they're diluting it. What % vinegar do you use for acid soaks and how much do you dilute it?

well , most of the refferences i recall are about 5% or less. For instance, in my country i wasn't able to find any white (distilled) vinegar, so i got to use 95% acetic acid from the lab store. With the Cyb's Hybrid tek suggesting using 60 ml vinegar diluted in 200 ml water (assuming the vinegar is ~ 5%) , i dilute 3 ml of that acetic acid into ~ 250 ml of water to get approximately the same pH in that volume of liquid.

A lot of the teks I have read call for a pH 4 acidic solution. 5% distilled white vinegar, diluted to pH ~4. IIRC, 1 part 5% distilled white vinegar added to 7 parts distilled water will be around pH 4. So for example, 500mL 5% distilled white vinegar plus 3.5L (3500mL) distilled water should make an acidic solution around pH 4.

It does not have to be exactly pH 4. A lower pH would work every bit as well.
