How much space between two sessions? (Opiate Detox)

Hello,

Background:

After struggling with opiate addiction and relapsing four months into rehab I want to make another attempt with the support of ibogane this time.

I have already done some research and prepared to the best of my abilities (reduced my consumption opiate by 80% and routine check ups on cardiovascular health). I have lab tested Iboga - Powder legally available however no access to a facility that does these kinds of treatments. I do have a great Therapist I see weekly however.

Main Questions:

1)
While I can arrange for not having any work or family related responsibilities the days of the Iboga - session I don't want my close family I live with in the same house to be unnecessarily worried during this process. They know about my struggles regarding addiction and are very supportive. I just want to get a better sense of what severity of impairment/ detachment from reality I can expect to be under during the experience.

- Communication: If I have someone check up on me every 2 hours will I be able to recognize them/ what they are saying e.g. ,,how are you doing, do you need anything?" and give a simple "doing okay, some water please" in response?
- Physically/ Bathroom: Can I expect to be able to walk to the toilet on my own or at least be able to sit up in bed and pee in a bottle?
- How about 12+ hrs into the experience?

2) Finding the right dose with 2-3 attempts:

- Would it be possible for me to make 2 attempts in order to sneak up on the right "flood" dosage? E.g. 5mg then 10mg per KG body weight ~ 350/700mg total dose of ibogaine.
- I have read that two ibogaine sessions should be at least a month apart. However I was not able to find what this is exactly in regards to. Of course a correctly dosed session should only be necessary once to achieve the long term therapeutic benefits. There will be fatigue and a lot to process mentally for some time afterwards as I understand.
Is a prolonged break necessary even if the first attempt turns out to be a mild/under-dosed experience?

I'm very grateful for your inputs!

This answer should be prefaced with the caveat that I'm neither an iboga expert nor a medical practitioner of any kind, but there are two things that can be stated quite reliably: firstly, the metabolite noribogaine has a massively long half-life, so it's probably prudent to let levels drop over several weeks before re-dosing. This may be in large part due to point two: that iboga is associated with significant cardiotoxicity risks, such as lengthening of the Q/T interval.

This leads me to suggest you might be better off having more of a constant supervision rather than someone checking up every couple of hours.

I've only ever microdosed iboga and even then, it's bizarre and powerful stuff. Have you looked on Erowid.org for some iboga trip reports to provide further food for thought?

Thank you for the info. Ok, that are aspects I have looked into a bit aswell as to why a extended break is important. I have a 6 lead ECG on hand to keep an eye on QTc.
I'll check out some reports on erowid!

Also: Yes I should have stated I'm not assuming the answers I get are are a substitute for a doctors opinion and am aware of the inherent risk involved with my plan.

Greetings. I am curious if you're willing to share where you're at thus far in your planning of working with this plant?

Of my several micro doses thus far I had some intense dreams last night. I would like to say that I'm ready to embark upon a 1/3rd flood but I'm just not there yet.

I would be curious how solitary nature retreat effects opiate users...

Best of luck with the opiate withdrawal luv 🙏

My heart goes out to you ~

I don't have ANY expertise with ibogaine myself, but, I am interested whether smaller doses can do the trick as well for opiate recovery, or social&place isolation.

Where did the narrative of one massive flood dose of ibogaine for opiate recovery start? can you recover with smaller doses? The healing model of herbalism in general, as I have been studying it, is 'slow healing', almost always. It's wholistic, gentle, and takes place over time. Ask an herbalist to cure you overnight, she will be like what? So I am curious where this overnight narrative comes from of flooding with ibogaine for a one time fix. I don't see why safer doses could be taken, in a more spaced out and disciplined manner perhaps, in combination with other factors. This would enable you to consume it more safely, and progressively.

The other thing that makes me curious is whether a sort of 'vision quest', or repeated vision quests, could help someone develop relationship of existential groundedness, which I think is usually what the intellectual interpretation of opiate addiction revolves around. Opiates being connected to a powerful system which guides people away from thermal stressors, Pain, and place attachments(your mother or friends being places themselves). A vision quest is typically like a 3-5 day meditation in a spot in the woods. For the existential aspect of it, you would want to not have ANY contact with people, and preferably be in a unique place in nature that you are unfamiliar with (but have scouted out). You will be developing an existential groundedness in this new place. If you take some tryptamine psychedelics with you, you can accelerate the vision quest.

Random thoughts luv. 🙏
