Penis envy Uncut. I made this with a tray from the dollar store and like 3 colonized jars. It took like 3 more days than most strains to fruit. When I harvested them I was suprised by the spongey consistency of the stems.

Some Cubes have a fully opened cap - I thought you should harvest them BEFORE they start to open the cap?

I guess there was something like:

The mushroom wants to defend himself with the Psilocybin (bad that it does not work for you) and therefore while he is growing he produces it. Then when he is adulterated enough to create spores, it is not that mandatory anymore to fight back and then the production gets down. Does not seem too problematic, but not producing anymore and old Psilocybin getting destroyed over time you would end up with less Psilocybin - if harvesting after the caps are totally opened.

I'm no Mushroom expert, but if there is something true about this, maybe harvest all before the caps are open ? :?

hi bren=) I had never heard of that, and if its true, indeed one should harvest before. But I have not noticed loss in potency as shrooms are almost always too strong anyway O_O also big yields so I dont have to be stingy with cubes like as maybe with weed. Psychonauts generally say to harvest before so the shrooms dont sporulate over your whole room as spores spread and *damage?* further harvests. But if any of these trays were lost it was due to contamination or its life cycle running out and spores never seemed to "contaminate" the trays or fruiting chambers. I let them open up because I really like seeing how big they are gonna grow so most time I let them grow more, come back from work, then harvest. Also I always say I am gonna take prints but I end up never feeling like it xD
