I need help finding solvents in Spain

Migrated topic.

Hi,
I recently had my first experience's of breakthrough and was "told" that in future I need to extract my own dmt.
I've been doing some research but am struggling to find a supplier of solvents in Spain.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't think we're allowed to send links, but keep googling, I assure you that there are lots of them, It's not that difficult to find, both in physical stores or via the internet.

Can i ask you which solvent you recommend. I was initially looking to Naptha but have decided to go with Heptane

Thanks

It's a matter of determining the correct terminology in the context of where you can best, and most easily, find the appropriate materials. If I can do this as a non-Italian speaker who has never been to Italy in order to help someone in Italy successfully find solvents it would seem likely that anyone with a modicum of wits can do the same in Spain too.

You might want to look not only at builders' merchants and DIY stores but also furniture restorers and artists' suppliers, for example. If you're feeling adventurous, getting hold of ethyl acetate from a 3-D printing supplies might be fruitful.

If your search raises any more specific questions, I'll be keeping an eye out for them and will be happy to assist.

What materials do you think you might need? Everything you might need to know for just about any variety of extraction method can be found here, so have a good dig in and look around. Quite a lot of the most useful threads are stickied at the top of each subforum, and there is a wiki where much of the relevant information is gathered.

For more of a real-time interaction, we also have a chat where you stand a reasonable chance of meeting some of us out there in the ether. A lot of the action tends to happen at times less convenient for Europe though, so you might need to be a little patient.

Welcome to the Nexus, good luck with your search!

I've found naphtha easily and know people who use heptane, so that should also be pretty feasible. I cannot recommend one over the other, I don't have first-hand experience. Read the extraction teks repeatedly if you're not familiar with them.

Thanks, I'll continue my googling:)

I have found most solvents easily in Spain, just google for it. Cloroform is maybe the harder to find, no longer sell for personal use, I had to make the seller believe that I had a business and finally could purchase some..
Xylene, Ethyl Acetate and others are pretty easy to find.

As you are part of the european union you may get stuff with low shipping costs from neighbours too and easily found on ebay. Just check out this stuff:

But need to ask before if it is indeed the boiling range of 60 - 80 °C. Otherwise your goodies will not freeze precipitate

EDIT:

Even better price:

But always need to write the manufacturer if he can tell the content.

The naphtha to use will tell that the boiling starts at 60 °C and be max at 80 °C. That is the naphtha that is a mix of hexan and heptan which are best for pulling and the only ones that can do freeze precipitation.

Thanks chaps for the suggestions.

Despite spending many hours on the internet googling, I'm still unable to find anything suitable I'm sorry to say. Reading old posts it seems that finding solvents in Spain has been problematic for several others too and unfortunately where we live it's many many miles to the large shops, so I'm thinking of going down the Zippo lighter fluid route unless anyone has any suggestions of actual brands that are available in Spain via the internet.

Thanks

I believe V M&P Naphtha can be ordered off of Amazon. You can also find Heptane on Amazon.

In America, I was able to find Naphtha at a hardware store in the paint section where they have paint thinners and other solvents, but as you said, you live far away.

I would suggest browsing the paints and solvents sections of any large DIY stores' websites if you haven't already.

Learning naphtha's numerous synonyms and applications can also only help. There may be a lot of specialist knowledge and terminology you need to find out in Spanish.

How far did you get with this? What have you tried so far?

You can buy from Germany if they ship to you.

This one is the best:

Possibly the same:

Then here I'm not sure about the content. It should be labelled as C6-C7 Hydrocarbons (Alkane in German) and say *< 6 % n-Hexan*.

Better just ask and let you send a picture of the chemical content which should be what I wrote above.

Good morning to you all.

I'm happy to say that it came to me last night that I should be looking for online chemical suppliers.

And today I have already been able to purchase some Heptane:)

Yesterday was an auspicious day.

I was contacted by the head honcho of one of the more reputable Sativa seed producers, asking to use some of my photo's for their new updated brochure and website in exchange for some exceptional genetics.

I was offered some very rare seeds from 2006 (Destroyer Canabiogen) as well as many pure Sataivas of note.

And I was shown were to look for what I need to make my spice!

Exactly a year ago to the day I was entering hospital as an emergency prior to later requiring surgery.:)

Thank you to all you good and kind souls for your help and advice.

I hope to be back in a few weeks talking about successfully having done my first extraction.

For now it's back to further reading and purchasing the necessary safety equipment

You can easily get chloroform in bulk cheaply for plexiglass cold welding. Any shop that sells aluminium composite boards does sell chloroform for welding. Workers who design and install shop front signs knows where to get chloroform. You can pretty much find chloroform this way in any country.

I get one litre for $6.8
For one time only extraction I get 250ml bottle for $3.5.

Alternatively you can distill paint remover (dichloromethane) pick the cheapest brands it's those that has dichloromethane...no need to buy glass distiller just poke a hole Into the original container cap and hook a cooper or steel tube into the cap and the other end of the tube into a glass jar with some Icy water ...place the container in a hot water bath at 50° or so. It will distill in no time.

You can then wash the distilled dichloromethane with some concentrated brine solution to further clean it up. Store it in an amber glass container to prevent phosgene build up or better yet cover the bottle in aluminium foil (usually chlorinated solvents are mixed with small quantities of methanol to prevent the build of phosgene from sun light).

There are YouTube videos on distilling dichloromethane from paint remover it's very neat and simple process. No big fuss. And is the cheapest of all.

Keep the heptane you buy for re-crystalization and use chloroform/dichloromethane for the initial extraction. Just avoid using heat with chlorinated solvents as heat can cause side reactions with spice and result in loss of yeild.

Have you looked into wundbenzin? Its a bit more expensive, but more pure then those stated here, which are ment for cleaning. Its medicinal benzine. Extracts are snow white mostly, with only a bit of goo. I think its much like naptha, but more pure.
