I NEED SOME HELP: STB on MHRB using DCM (Dichloromethane)!!!

SWIM and his friend are going to proceed with a STB TEK on powdered Mimosa-Hostilis-Root-Bark,
BUT EXTRACTING WITH ANOTHER SOLVENT: DCM = Dichloromethane(CH2CL2).

Could anyone please give to me some advise?

-Is It more efficient than naphta (no matter how much solvent is needed, I just matter how much spice is extracted from a certain amount of MHRB)
-How much Do I have to use? more or less than with naphta?
-I will have to evaporate the solvent, no freezing, or am I wrong?
-Will I have to wash or recristalice?

-And finally; Is it dangerous to smoke the DCM-extracted spice (I mean, It could keep some solvent residue)? Any of you have felt something diferent with DCM-extracted spice? Is It recomendable?

Ooh! I'd save that DCM for something else. It's a super solvent and will probably pull all but the very plant matter.

I'd love some for my bufo extractions though.
 
It's not good for an STB. It will pull out tons of junk along with the DMT. You need a more selective solvent like xylene, naphtha, d-limonene, etc.

Do not use DCM in an STB!!!

DCM is an amazing solvent. It is heavier than water and it sinks on the bottom instead of floating on top (like naphtha does).

In an STB, mixing the DCM with the lye/water/bark material will make a mess. It won't be easy to retrieve the solvent form the bottom.
 
It`s a huge mess with a very low yield, but if nothing else is at `home` one would go for it.

If one has plenty DCM it would be better to soak grinded bark in it once or twice, without basifying first to pull out gunk.

One would mix finely grinded bark with lye solution first stir it and let it react for couple of hours, then let the particles sediment and carefuly pour out just the tickish black liquid leaving all particles behind. Then wash the sediments with DCM few times and discard them. Save dcm for puylling as is won`t be saturated after such a wash. Then just perform pulls on that black tickish liquid. This gonna be a big pain in the arse as dcm is miscible with water a little it tend to create nasty emulsions, so one will wait for ages to separate them. But is not impossible, ILPT got vaxy red jungle from this shitty technique of extraordinary power. It taught ILPT an friends to have a huge respect to this substance

He wouldn`t commit to do this ever again,because of emulsion headache.
Only if no other solvent would be readily available he would think about it

But now I have another question now: thinking in all you have said... so ¿Could be DCM used for washing or purifying dirty Spice after a naphta extraction?
Because that Spice will be clean, but maybe with some yelow shit, so it could be usefull to "extract" the Spice (and just clean Spice) from the yelow stuff...

It will probably dissolve the impurities as well so how could it effectively wash it?

for purifying dirty spice is best done with recrystalization with naphtha/hexane/heptane, and washes are better done when the spice is still in the solvent, mixing it with a dilute sodium carbonate acqueous solution and then separating (but this is more if one thinks there is lye remains in it or something of the sort. To get pure white dmt, recrystalization is the way)
